Autumn is one of my favorite times of year to think about fashion. The temperatures change, the colors become richer, and the calendar fills with occasions to get dressed and step out in style. From afternoon brunches and art exhibitions to performances, galas, and holiday celebrations, there is always a reason to make an outfit feel special.
This season, I am drawn to chocolate brown, camel, cognac, and olive for understated elegance, while burgundy, emerald, plum, and ruby red bring a little drama. Metallic accents add festive sparkle, and the right accessories can transform a simple outfit into something memorable. For me, personal style is about bringing beautiful pieces together while allowing individuality to shine.

An Art Exhibition at Christie’s Auction House? Why, Yes!
There is something special about a beautifully curated art exhibition, and Boucheron at Christie’s did not disappoint! When art, culture, and extraordinary jewels come together, the outfit should balance comfort and style. Reservations may be necessary, and visitors without one may have to wait in line, so I would choose something polished and comfortable throughout the visit.
A floral embroidered sweater from Lela Rose in vibrant burnt orange is a wonderful starting point. I would pair it with a chic pleated skirt from Cinq à Sept and black Loubirain 2 boots from Christian Louboutin. The orange creates the perfect fall aesthetic, while the skirt adds a sophisticated touch and the boots ground the look.
While the eyes are taking in Boucheron’s extraordinary jewels, there may be a few eyes on the visitor, too! I believe in dressing for the experience without making an outfit feel overdone. A beautiful sweater, great boots, and confidence go a long way.
Heading to the Opera?
La Bohème is on my must-see list at the Metropolitan Opera House! With autumn temperatures settling in, I am on the hunt for the perfect floor-length gown with a matching cape. The look should be elegant while providing an extra layer of warmth.
has caught my eye with a chartreuse cape dress featuring elegant pleating, a flattering V-neckline, and an attached cape. The classic silhouette and striking color make a beautiful statement without requiring too many accessories. I would complete the look with understated jewelry, a sleek clutch, and elegant heels. An evening at the opera deserves a little drama, both onstage and in the wardrobe!

Opening Night at the Ballet or a Modern Dance Performance?
Opening night of Alvin Ailey is always on my must-see list! An evening celebrating dance, culture, and artistry deserves an equally thoughtful outfit. For this occasion, I would look for a beautiful tea-length A-line dress from Jovani.
I love the versatility of an A-line silhouette. It is feminine, timeless, and easy to style for an evening at the theater. With the right heels, clutch, and jewelry, the look comes together beautifully.
Gala Season: Dressing for a Cause
Finally, the whirlwind of galas is upon us! Fall and holiday calendars bring charitable fundraisers, scholarship benefits, cultural celebrations, and formal dinners that call for a little extra glamour.

For a black-tie gala or charity ball, I would start with the gown and build the look around it. Emerald, burgundy, plum, and classic black are beautiful seasonal choices, while metallic accents add festive shine. A tailored pantsuit is another stylish option for women who prefer a polished alternative to a gown. With the right cut, beautiful fabric, and statement accessories, a pantsuit can be every bit as elegant for a formal dinner or charitable event.
The finishing touches matter. Nadri jewelry adds refined sparkle, while a statement handbag from Brandon Blackwood brings personality and polish. I appreciate accessories that stand out without overwhelming the outfit.

I also admire designers who bring a distinct point of view to luxury. Sonal, founder of FLAPPER6, combines heritage, craftsmanship, and a modern vision of luxury. Her London-based design house creates timeless pieces for women who see fashion as an expression of individuality rather than simply a pursuit of trends.
The Giorgio Armani fall 2026 collection delivers sculptural eveningwear, architectural necklines, and plenty of jaw-dropping drama. Forest green, amaranth, deep brown, and midnight blue pair beautifully with embroidered velvets, shimmering surfaces, and intricate embellishment. With its balance of rich textures and sophisticated silhouettes, this collection is one to watch for the social season.

Dressing for the Moments That Matter
As Autumn moves into the holiday season, I look forward to the occasions ahead, from brunch with friends and afternoons surrounded by art to evenings at the opera and galas supporting meaningful causes.
My approach to seasonal dressing is simple: choose pieces that make you feel good, pay attention to the details, and let your personality shine through. A rich sweater, a beautifully pleated gown, a tailored pantsuit, or a distinctive handbag can make the right statement when chosen for the occasion.
Fall and holiday fashion does not require an entirely new wardrobe or staying on trend. Sometimes, the best look begins with one beautiful piece and the confidence to wear it well. Dress for the occasion, enjoy the experience, and make the look your own.
