We hope you’re preparing your pumpkin pie recipes for Thanksgiving. The glorious holiday season is slowly approaching as we exit a very long fashion month, which, as usual, saw Paris Fashion Week continuing into the start of October. Now that all that Fashion Month craziness is behind us, we can sit back and enjoy the post-Fashion Month gossip. There is so much happening, and Fashion Reverie has the tea for you.
Pierpaolo Piccioli is allegedly out at Balenciaga. The designer, who served as the brand’s creative director for only two years, was trying to return Balenciaga to the couture sensibilities it had under Cristóbal Balenciaga, but allegedly his couture sales haven’t done well. Kering, Balenciaga’s parent company, is down overall, and even its crown jewel, Gucci, missed the sales mark for Q3. It’s a tough time for luxury brands, and the rounds of designer musical chairs continue.

The girls are fighting. If Ryan Murphy needs another season of “Feud,” he can look to Joan Smalls and Candice Swanepoel. The two, once seemingly close friends, have unfollowed each other on Instagram. Smalls recently hinted on Instagram that Swanepoel stabbed her in the back, though she did not specify the full extent of their falling out. How sad that such beautiful girls are having such ugly drama.

As some of the biggest figures on reality TV and social media, the Kardashian/Jenners are no strangers to criticism. However, it looks like many people are furious with Kylie Jenner. The reality star and entrepreneur recently walked the Victoria’s Secret Runway Show in the most expensive Fantasy Bra to date. While this may sound fine, many agents and models were furious that the most expensive Fantasy Bra ever made ended up on someone who wasn’t an actual model. Jenner currently has the ire of many agents and models who thought this was a gimmick and disrespectful to actual models as a whole. If they needed a model, her sister Kendall Jenner is right there. Good thing Kylie was just doing a seemingly one-off modeling opportunity and not coming for her sister’s day job.
This CEO of this major holding company sparked controversy when he discussed the Paris looting amid the protests in France. Apparently, behind closed doors, this man is a subtle racist and complains about how one of the biggest fashion brands in their portfolio has so many Black and Middle Eastern customers. While the racism of elite white men is nothing shocking, this is the first time people of color in the fashion industry have begun outing him for his true colors.
