If you are not familiar “Behind the Velvet Rope,” you should be. In the 1990s and into the 2000s, fashion stylist/insider Lauren Ezersky hosted “Behind the Velvet Rope,’ a behind the scenes look at the New York City fashion scene.
“Behind the Velvet Rope” was way ahead of its time and gave its viewers a never-seen-before inside fashion purview with fashion luminary interviews and a sneak peek into fashion press previews, fashion shows, and events. Ezersky, with her native New Yorker Bronx accent, presented an unscripted, raw depiction of the New York City fashion scene. There are interviews with Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Donatella Versace, and a host of other fashion legends.
“Behind the Velvet Rope” was presented on local cable channel WOW Presents Plus (MNN) and unfortunately has been lost to many viewers. Or, so we thought!!
WOW Presents Plus, Rupaul Charles’ streaming platform, has resurrected “Behind the Velvet Rope” as a part of the many shows on the platform which includes the international versions of “Rupaul’s Drag Race,” as well as the American seasons. There is also low-budget programs starring Drag Race winners and favorites like Trixie Mattel, Katya Zamolodchikova, Jimbo, Lawrence Chaney, Pangina Heels, and many more.

Changes at Wonderland
Wonderland magazine has a new editor-in-chief. Carlos Nazario has been named the new editor-in-chief having worked as style director at large of Harper’s Bazaar and global fashion director of i-D, as well as contributing to publications including Vogue, Vogue Italia, W Magazine, and T: The New York Times Style Magazine.
“I am so grateful to Alastair McKimm, chief creative officer of Visual Talent Group and Peter [Jones, chairman and chief executive of Visual Talent Group] for entrusting me with this next chapter of Wonderland,” said Nazario, as reported in fashionweekdaily.com. “The name alone suggests so much possibility, and I’m excited to reimagine what it can mean for this moment. Magazines introduced me to people, places, and ideas that expanded my world and allowed me to dream. I want Wonderland to offer that same sense of discovery, with fashion at its heart and a curiosity that takes us far beyond it, telling the stories that make this moment in global culture so unique and intriguing. Bringing together a creative community is one of the great joys of making magazines, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Nazario has collaborated with Wonderland for over a decade. And according to Alistair Kim, Nazario was an “immediate choice … the most deserving and capable candidate to take on this role at such a pivotal time in Wonderland’s history. As we grow and evolve the company, we need an editor at the helm with not only vast experience in fashion, art, and culture, but with the energy and vision it takes to execute such an ambitious project. I’m so excited to see what he creates with the team.”
Wonderland magazine was founded in London in 2005 as part of Visual Talent Group. Nasario’s first issue will be the 2027 spring issue which will hit stands in March 2027.

Downey and SPECS
Robert Downey, Jr., has been appointed chief Customer Experience Officer at SPECS. Downey will appear in a series of videos demonstrating the new SPECS AR glasses. The SPEC glasses build an augmented reality (AR) with a built-in computer system, bringing to life the technology Robert Downey Jr.’s character, Tony Stark, used in “Iron Man” and the Marvel Universe.
“Trying is believing. Having tested practically every wearable tech that’s come to market in the last 20 years, and been largely unimpressed, I was absolutely sold on SPECS within 40 seconds … In short, it delivers on the promise of AR glasses made by a certain techno-optimist superhero I portrayed. Life imitates art-imitates life!” said Downey Jr. in a fashionweekdaily.com article.
In this role, Downey will assist customers connect to the possibility of AR technology. And although the SPEC videos are a bit sci-fi, hopefully these videos will get the message across.
