Red Carpet Looks from the 2021 American Music Awards

The American Music Awards (AMAs), an annual event that celebrates talent is often a fashion spectacle and never disappoints. Remember Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wearing matching double denim outfits 20 years ago? We knew this year would be special given that Cardi B was the host of the evening. Cardi B brings that extra something special and is always entertaining. Cardi B showed up wearing a golden mask, gold fingernail gloves and a black veiled gown by Schiaparelli. Could others follow up and rise to the challenge? Fashion Reverie reveals some great looks for the 2021 AMAs.

Olivia Rodrigo

Rodrigo’s look drew lots of attention. In a sequined David Koma dress that was transparent with a feathered hemline, this look was a fun yet a sexy look for the occasion.

JoJo Siwa

Jojo Siwa wore an age appropriate off-shoulder, tiered, ruffled black dress to the 2021 AMAs. Bye, bye pony tail, hello high heels and an All-American girl coif!!

JoJo

Speaking of JoJo, pop signer JoJo in a silver cutout gown by Usama Ishtay left little to the imagination.  JoJo turned heads with this look, since the silhouette enhanced her beautiful curves.

Rachel Zegler

“Westside Story’s” Rachel Zegler wore a black and white tiered Carolina Herrera gown to the 2021 AMA. Though she looked wonderful, maybe this look was a little too formal for this occasion.

Kali Uchis

This look was custom made for Kali. This singer nominated for several Billboard Latin awards this year showed up in a MUGLER corset-inspired mini dress. Fashion Reverie loves that she added a matching cape. Though this outfit bordered on a  Vanity 6 fantasy flashback, it does make an interesting conversation item.

Billy Porter

Fashion Reverie loves that he always puts his best foot forward when it comes to fashion and red carpets. The bright blue Botter suit with an umbrella blue hat was a full bingo look!! Still, did Grace Jones do it better a couple of decades ago?

Becky G

Becky G wore a bodycon, mini dress by Rais Vanessa. The long sleeves and accessories completed the look. This was definitely a dress down for Becky C, who usually turns it off on red carpets.

Winnie Harlow

Top model Winnie Harlow was the most glamorous celeb of the evening in a Zuhair Murad dress that was pretty much made of beading and sequins She completed this look with a pair of strappy heels and a studded headband.

Celebrity Fashion Sightings: Week of November 15, 2021

If you observe any celebrity fashion sightings, it is obvious that the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer stopping red carpet and celebrity appearances. This week’s celebrity fashion sighting takes our viewers to the Los Angeles premiere of “The House of Gucci,” the Guggenheim Gala, the 2021 InStyle Awards, and the opening of the Omega store.

Beauty definitely runs in the family when it comes to supermodel Cindy Crawford and her top model daughter Kaia Gerber. Mother and daughter looked fantastic at the Omega store opening. Kaia donned a Celine black dress and mom Cindy looked almost ageless in a St. John stripped black dress. Hmm, the apple did not fall far from the tree!!

Lady Gaga has been making numerous red-carpet appearances for the premieres of “The House of Gucci.” At the Los Angeles premiere, Gaga was attired in a shimmering Valentino gown and Messika jewelry. Though the gown was lovely, this was not a great look for Gaga. She kind of looked overwhelmed by the look. Better luck next time.

Kate Beckinsale proves that ladies of a certain can still turn it out. And turn it out she did at the launch of Christian Siriano’s tabletop book in a Christian Siriano little black dress.

Elle Fanning proves over and over again that she is all grown up. She proved this time at a appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show in a pink Oscar de la Renta pink dress with feathered hemline.

Tessa Thompson is a regular on red carpets. At the 2021 InStyle Awards wore a voluminous black Christian Siriano gown accessorized with Grace Lee jewelry. Though this was an interesting experiment for Thompson, it didn’t quite work.

Reese Witherspoon also attend the 2021 InStyle Awards. Reese a blue sequined gown from the Michael Kors Collection and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

“The Good Lord Bird’s” Maya Hawke looked elegant in Dior for Guggenheim Gala. Her parents Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke should be so proud. There is on setback though, if only her hair had been styled to match her elegant dress.

Fashion Reverie’s Favorite Paris Hilton’s Fashion Looks

Paris Hilton is married! 2021 has been full of surprises and Paris has found the love of her life—Carter Milliken Reum is an American author, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. They hadn’t even dated for a long period of time when Reum proposed. It is what it is, when you know, you know!!

So, a three-day wedding occurred last week with many celebrities in attendance and with Paris changing into a few different looks. Until Fashion Reverie discusses the official wedding gown by Oscar de la Renta, Fashion Reverie takes a look back at some of Hilton’s most memorable looks and styles over the past two decades.

Paris Hilton Informal Modeling At The Waldorf Towers 1997. Credit: Judie Burstein/Globe/Mediapunch /IPX

This was just a little preview of the style Paris will develop; classy, cute and age appropriate. She was at the Waldorf Towers in 1997. We love the satin kitten heel!

Well, here she is all grown up at Maxim Magazine‘s How 100 Party in 2001. The only way this outfit all sort of matches is because it is the same color. But we are not sure how it all came together.  Also, is that a backpack?

Fashion Reverie witnessed a lot of moments between these two besties, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. They do go way back but we are focused on this adorable princess fuchsia look along with a tiara. And yet another Barbie backpack?

By 2003, Paris ditched her tiara(s) and went for a more daring look, showing as much skin as possible? At the MTV Movie Awards, she wore a tiny top and asymmetrical skirt in beautiful tones of blue. Our favorite part of this look, her belly button!

Wow, now this is much better, in a midi dress with a cute little chihuahua. Simply adorable!

In this look, we go, back to the age of Juicy Couture! We all loved this look back in the day. What were we thinking?

Here is Paris Hilton again at the 2015 Grammys, looking absolutely stunning. Still sexy but much better than the crop top we saw in 2003. The high slit is super sexy, and Fashion Reverie love her hairstyle!

Socialite Paris Hilton attends the Spring/Summer 2020 Savage X Fenty show, presented by Amazon Prime, at the Barclays Center on Tuesday, Sept, 10, 2019, in New York. (Photo by Evan Agostini/Invision/AP)

We love when Paris gives us a smile on the red carpet, she is so fun and natural when it comes to posing. This is her attending a Savage X Fenty show in Brooklyn!

Paris Hilton

And our final pick is of course her elegant Grace Kelly-like Oscar de la Renta wedding dress. We love the flowered embroidery with long sleeves and long veil. She looked absolutely stunning at her nuptials. This look is timeless, and it is fitting for royalty and church weddings. And in this case Hollywood royalty!

2021 MTV Europe Music Awards Red Carpet Fashion

The 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards, or EMAs, was held live on Nov. 14 in Budapest, Hungary to celebrate the best music of the year and honor top artists from all over the globe. Hosted by rapper Saweetie who not only guided us through the ceremony and show-stopping performances, Saweetie also took the stage herself.

An event like this doesn’t happen without a red carpet and attendees trying to impress the way they dressed. Here are some of Fashion Reverie’s favorite looks.

Maluma

Not only is Maluma a charmer and kind of hot. He has stepped up his red-carpet game this year! This jumpsuit was custom-made by Roberto Cavalli and was styled by Chief Ugo Mozie II. Maluma wore charms in the shape of teeth and tiger heads, as well as leather straps and buckles. Very sharp indeed!

Winnie Harlow

Top model Winnie Harlow is such a trendsetter. We love the bold coral blue with a feathered bodice, as well as the asymmetrical miniskirt lined with jewel ornaments by David Koma. Harlow wore sandals in the same blue shade, though she added just one matching color high-thigh sock. Scandalous!!

Maneskin

This Italian nab takes fashion to the new levels. Their outfits were custom-made by Gucci. Bassist Victoria De Angelis wore a metallic, blue suit with a tiny sheer bra,

Thomas Raggi was in a black and gold jumpsuit, and drummer Ethan Torchio’s matched in a gold shirt with puffed sleeves and a tie down the front. Singer Damiano David paired a see-through shirt tied with a studded pair of underwear and fishnet stockings and a garter belt.

Rita Ora

She always looks impressive and loves to experiment with different silhouettes. She wore a strapless jumpsuit with a very long feathered train carried by her boyfriend Taika Waititi. This show-stopping garment was designed by Jean Louis Sabaji.

Oumi Janta

Oumi Janta wore a neon yellow matching set by Zalando. She looked confident, comfy and a blue shade of lipstick added to her edginess.

Saweetie

The EVMA host wore eleven different outfits, so Fashion Reverie shared its favorite, a mini Giambattista Valli dress in peach with a huge train attached to her back. She had to stand atop a box so we could perfectly see the look.

Can she ever take a bad picture? Probably not!! Hailey Bieber looks so chic and sophisticated in a Saint Laurent white gown at the 2021 LACMA Art and Film Gala.

Wow, Elle Fanning is all grown up. For those who remember her as a child actor, her current red-carpet looks are a far cry from her days as a child actor.

Fanning was sexy and fashion forward in a Gucci black revealing gown with high split and diaphanous peekaboo silhouettes at the 2021 LACMA Art and Film Gala.

At Fashion Reverie, we love to include some men’s fashion on the red carpet, particularly if that fashion is pushing the proverbial fashion envelope. And no one pushed the fashion envelope for men’s fashion more than Jared Leto.

Leto’s red-carpet look says everything with where men’s fashion is heading in a white Gucci suit with ostrich feather embellishments on the sleeve and a unisex shirt. You go Jared!!

We haven’t featured Maggie Gyllenhaal that many times in our celebrity fashion sightings. That said, we couldn’t leave Maggie out this week. Maggie did herself proud in a lilac Christopher John Rogers pant suit at the Los Angeles screening of “The Lost Daughter.”

This week’s celebrity fashion sightings included a bevy of super models. To top the list was Adriana Lima in dramatic black Georges Chakra gown with a bold red lining at the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition in Doha, Qatar.

Former Victoria’s Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio looked like a sexy heavenly being in Elie Saab couture at the amfAR Los Angeles gala.

Supermodel Irina Shayk showed off all her curves in a Burberry black dress at the Fashion Trust Arabia Prize ceremony.

Also, attending the Fashion Trust Arabia Prize ceremony Sabrina Elba looked like nature’s child in a floral Oscar de la Renta gown.

Kristen Stewart is having some fantastic red-carpet moments. This week was no exception. Stewart demonstrated what it all about in a DSquared 2 ensemble with lace leggings on the red carpet of “Spencer.”

Bringing up the rear this week in Gia Gadot. Gia looked resplendent in in red Loewe sparkles and Tiffany & Co jewels for the premiere of “Red Notice.”

Celebrities Who Are Fabulously Fashionable at 40

Age is just a number and there are some top celebrities that are proving this to be correct. Remember when turning 40 was a big deal and women would just hide, thinking their chances for any change to better their life was over? Well, that is no longer the case. It seems that every celeb approaching middle age is starting new projects, and best looks seem to peak right around that age. Which celebrities are making this age proud?

Kim Kardashian

Kim K is leading the age 40 group since she turned the big 40 last year and showed us how it is done. She might be currently single but is certainly (still) taking over the world with her latest Fendi Skims collaboration. Being more gorgeous than ever makes it easier on other ladies to say, I am not that old!!

Beyoncé

Beyoncé Just turned 40 in December of last year, and even though her behavior and habits seem to be a lot simpler these days, her fashion and looks are still incredible. A few days after her 40th birthday, she posted a photo with Jay Z on a yacht just looking happy.

Britney Spears

She has lots to celebrate given her conservatorship is over. Now she is happily in love and even mentioned that her abs are finally showing. She did mention earlier this year that she would want to have more children with her current fiancé. Looks like life is just starting.

Meghan Markle

Whether you love her or hate her, Megan Markle has developed her own style and looks pretty good for someone who has allegedly gone through so much in the last few years. Do you think Meghan will really disappear from the public eye in her 40’s or will Netflix-like deals be more tempting to keep her in front of the public?

Paris Hilton

The definition of fabulous, this girl knows how to have fun and to entertain others. She has maintained her glamorous, youthful look for the last 15 years; therefore, age won’t hold Paris down. She has a wedding to look forward to and we love her newly acquired calm, cute energy.

Alessandra Ambrosio

This mother of two and retired Victoria’s Secret Angel doesn’t look a day older since we have last seen her on the runway. She is often seen leaving workouts or sometimes a spa therefore let’s use her as little motivation for selfcare.

Jennifer Hudson

We can’t wait to see what the Academy Awards-winner has planned for next year. She has mastered music, fashion, and has conquered Hollywood. That said, if we were to look at our crystal bowl Fashion Reverie sees many more successful projects and awards.

Fashion Reverie loves Angelina Jolie, especially on the red carpet. Lately, Angelina has been showing up on the red carpet with her kids, but for this sighting Fashion Reverie loves this look by herself.

For the “Eternals” premiere in Los Angeles, Angelina stunned in a ruched Balmain and vintage Tiffany & Co jeweler.

We love everything that Zendaya wears, well almost. The Fashion Reverie love continues with this stunning Rick Owens white architectural gown worn to the London “Dune” premiere.

Rebecca Ferguson who stars as Lady Jessica in “Dune” looked very aristocratic in a Carolina Herrera black princess gown with black bows and sparkle at the London premiere of “Dune.” Though Rebecca looked regal, a smile would have been nice. Somebody should remind Rebecca that royalty can look like they are having fun!!

Images courtesy of hollywoodlife.com and D’Orazio and Associates

Halle Berry was honored at Elle’s Women in Hollywood party. She arrived wearing a pink and black Dundas x Revolve Zeppelin maxi dress. Halle was beautifully accessorized in Hanut Singh Tiger Claw ruby and diamond earrings.

Since “Scandal” ended Kerry Washington has not let any cross under her feet. Kerry dons an eye-catching shimmering striped Ralph & Russo column gown at Elle’s Women in Hollywood party.

“Wonder Woman’s” Gal Gadot look glorious and on trend in a pink Saint Laurent gown at the Elle’s Women in Hollywood party.

Hailey Bieber looked elegant and so much the model in Miu Miu at the Elle Women in Hollywood party.

Gemma Khan is becoming a new Fashion Reverie red carpet favorite. At the Rome Festival, Gemma was a real stunner in a two-piece by London-based brand Miss Sohee for the premiere of “Eternals.”

Fashion Reverie’s Favorite Celebs Reflect Fall 2021 Trends

Well, autumn has arrived and in some parts of the country you already need that nice fall outfit and a nice pair of boots. However, there are also places like New York City where temperatures are mild and outdoor activities are still in full swing. So, though its not quite cold yet, this is the perfect time to figure out what’s missing from our closets for the change of seasons. Of course, we can draw inspiration from fashion shows and social media. And if that is not enough, we can always look to our favorite celebrities.

Fashion Reverie examines celebrities that have great style, particularly in this season of change.

Baggy Jeans

You might already have a pair, but if you don’t, hurry and get some baggy jeans. Jean trends continue to circle back around, but baggy jeans are here to stay for a while. Hailey Bieber sure knows how to make baggy jeans look good.

White Shirt

Well, it seems to Fashion Reverie that no pays attention to not wearing white after Labor Day, once people caring about it no longer matters. You can wear white any time of the year and especially if it is another item that goes in and out of style. It is good to invest in a quality white shirt. Like Charlize Theron rocking it with this cute mini.

Trench Coat

Kendall Jenner stepped out in a slightly oversized brown trench coat with black buttons. The versatile piece was paired with classics: gray tee shirt and blue jeans. Kendall made this look more interesting with accessories, hoop earrings, tortoiseshell-rimmed sunglasses and a black leather tote bag.

Colorful Knits

Bright color, ideally orange pumpkin-colored knits are a great inspiration for fall 2021. Chloe Bailey presented us this option in a rather short, but button-down dress with a collar.

One Piece

Kim Kardashian has proven a one-piece outfit can leave quite an impression. Kim K’s monochromatic looks are go-to looks and she is on trend in pink!! Still, Fashion Reverie thinks she looks amazing. The only awkward thing about this look is going to the bathroom!!

Images courtesy of marieclaire.com

Translucent

Megan Fox or Lizzo? Both recently wore a similar look but received different feedback. One thing for sure. you should expect a lot of chatter. However, Fashion Reverie advise you to cover the girls and maybe wear shoes?

Red-Carpet Looks from the 2021 Tony Awards

The 2021 Tony Awards red carpet was a perfect celebration of Broadway coming back. Bold colors, sparkles, and embroidered silhouettes were everywhere on the red carpet. It is a little bit hard to keep up with Broadway since so many theatregoers have not seen a play or musical in a while due to the COVID-19 health pandemic. So, This Tony Award show captured Broadway from 2019 and 2020. Stars showed up looking theatrical, as was expected.

Here are some of Fashion Reverie’s favorite looks.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

Chrissy made a comeback after getting “canceled” on social media in a pretty, pink-ruffled sleeves and shiny silver gown.  She wore Ulyana Sergeenko on the red carpet with her husband, John Legend, who performed with the cast of “Ain’t Too Proud the Musical.”

Kristin Chenoweth

Kristin Chenoweth originated the role of Glinda from the Broadway megahit “Wicked” so, Kristin did channel her sense of style with a bright pink tulle Jason Wu gown! Was Kristin conjuring up her character from “Wicked”? Probably!! She did conjure up Glinda signing a duet with Idina Menzel.

Leslie Odom, Jr. and Nicolette Robinson

Odom Jr. walked the red carpet in Celine suit with his wife, Nicolette Robinson in Christian Siriano. They have been setting an example of how a lovely couple walks the carpet as a team.

Jake Gyllenhaal

Nominated for best leading actor in a play for his role in “Sea Wall/A Life,” Jake Gyllenhaal wore a light pink Prada tuxedo with Cartier jewels. This look is what most men should strive for when walking a carpet.

Amber Iman

Amber Iman wore a masterpiece of dramatic silhouettes by Naeem Khan. Embroidery and bold colors made a perfect seasonal transitional red-carpet showstopper.  And the cape is perfectly on point when it comes to the latest fashion trends.

Lauren Patton

Her look was bold and rather costume-like.  The Thom Browne striped garment was carefully picked for the biggest night on Broadway.

LaChanze

Broadway veteran LaChanze seemed very confident and unique by choosing to wear a jumpsuit to wear on the red carpet. Now, remember if you choose to don a jumpsuit on a red carpet, the jumpsuit has to look incredible.  Well, LaChanze looked exactly as expected in a Oyemwen green jumpsuit, incredible!!

Bernadette Peters

Broadway legend Bernadette Peters wore stars for the superstar she is in an off-the-shoulder Bob Mackie gown embellished with stars. She wore the same look in the 1980’s, Bob Mackie revealed in a tweet. If it looks good, why not wear it again. And who would’ve known if Mackie hadn’t tweeted the 80s look.

Great Looks from the 2021 Emmy’s Red Carpet

Ratings were up substantially at the 2021 Emmy Awards, and all the attendees seemed to be excited to be at an awards’ show and the house looked packed. It did seem each group stayed within their circle, and it was clear big precautions were taken to keep everyone safe. Red carpet looks were memorable and great fashion is all it takes for Fashion Reverie to enjoy watching. Here are looks that impressed Fashion Reverie.

Anya Taylor Joy showed up looking like a Hollywood goddess in a Christian Dior haute couture look.  The look consisted of a canary cape, which she wore over her arms and a light silky dress. Something tells us this is just the beginning of her memorable looks.

Ashi Studio and Billy Porter are a perfect match. It is a challenge to make the best-dressed list if you are all in black. However, if you strike poses like Billy Porter, you absolutely can make the list, especially if your garment comes with sculpted sleeves as wings and a ton of diamonds.

The Netflix host “Nailed It!” Nicole Byer wore a violet Christian Siriano gown custom made just for her. It was the perfect look for her, she looked truly opulent.

Image courtesy of Jay L Clendenin/Getty Images

Dan Levy in Valentino Couture made Fashion Reverie’s list again. He always innovates his looks. Though Levy does not adhere to any style, Fashion Reverie always expectedly waits for a pleasant surprise from this Hollywood trend setter.

Image courtesy of David M Benett/Getty Images

Emma Corrin turns heads in Miu Miu. This is a look everyone must have strong thoughts about. A simple gown enriched by black “claw” gloves and a swim cap? Now that’s having fun with fashion.

Gareth Catter Moleg/Getty Images

Emerald Fennell in Valentino looked feminine and dreamy. This might be more of an Oscars look but since we’ve lacked glamour on red carpets for some time now due to the health pandemic, we are so happy that Emerald has turned out to be a rare jewel.

Rich Fury/Getty Images

Angela Bassett in Greta Constantine looked energized and radiant. It seemed the actress fully recharged over the summer and is ready to take over the new season (again). This dress is dramatic, with the fuschia ruffles bringing out Basset’s beautiful facial features.

Bowen Yang is bringing so much joy this year starting from playing The Iceberg on “SNL” to last night’s red carpet. He wore a Zegna tuxedo, but spiced things up with a pair of silver platform boots from queer Asian-owned Brooklyn brand Syro, complemented with a Tiffany’s brooch!
