Red-Carpet Looks from the 2021 Tony Awards

The 2021 Tony Awards red carpet was a perfect celebration of Broadway coming back. Bold colors, sparkles, and embroidered silhouettes were everywhere on the red carpet. It is a little bit hard to keep up with Broadway since so many theatregoers have not seen a play or musical in a while due to the COVID-19 health pandemic. So, This Tony Award show captured Broadway from 2019 and 2020. Stars showed up looking theatrical, as was expected.

Here are some of Fashion Reverie’s favorite looks.

Kristin Chenoweth

Kristin Chenoweth originated the role of Glinda from the Broadway megahit “Wicked” so, Kristin did channel her sense of style with a bright pink tulle Jason Wu gown! Was Kristin conjuring up her character from “Wicked”? Probably!! She did conjure up Glinda signing a duet with Idina Menzel.

Broadway veteran LaChanze seemed very confident and unique by choosing to wear a jumpsuit to wear on the red carpet. Now, remember if you choose to don a jumpsuit on a red carpet, the jumpsuit has to look incredible.  Well, LaChanze looked exactly as expected in a Oyemwen green jumpsuit, incredible!!

Bernadette Peters

Broadway legend Bernadette Peters wore stars for the superstar she is in an off-the-shoulder Bob Mackie gown embellished with stars. She wore the same look in the 1980’s, Bob Mackie revealed in a tweet. If it looks good, why not wear it again. And who would’ve known if Mackie hadn’t tweeted the 80s look.
