No matter how incredible looking that very special sweater or great pair of slacks is, if your outerwear is lackluster, a shabby, uninteresting coat can dull the garments underneath. TATRAS, a leader since 2000 in high-end down jackets and coats understands that the clean lines of Japanese style, the excellence of Italian workmanships and fabrics, and the technical production of the Polish goose combined produces the kind of outerwear that the modern consumer pines for.
Founder Masanaka Sakao takes all these elements and translates them into TATRAS’ fall/winter 2016/17 advertising campaign which is all about the fine yarns of Nishijin, prized fabric made in the province of Kyoto and used for centuries in the kimonos of emperors. For the male consumer, TATRAS’ fall/winter 2016/2017 campaigns pays tribute to the staple items in a man’s wardrobe. Think down jackets, vests and blazes all infused with TATRAS’ refinement and modern sensibility. For fall 2016 the TATRAS guy is curious and adventurous, a globetrotter of sorts who takes great pride in how he looks, never sacrificing style for comfort. One could call the TATRAS man an urban dandy that in this modern climate is not a bad thing.
And for the ladies TATRAS’ fall/spring 2016/17 collection is all about simplicity meeting elegance and sophistication. The restrained volume aesthetic of this collection lends to the brand’s emphasis on comfort and lends itself to the classic Japanese kimono. This silhouette is juxtaposed against with some slimmer silhouettes that conjure up images of 19th century silhouettes of cinched-in waist evidenced in corsets and the ‘Gibson Girl’ look. The elegant palette of colors is characterized by sober harmony. Black and pale gray alternate with navy blue and smoke grey and even purple and saffron.
