Fashion Reverie always tries to keep its readers informed on all the happenings in the unpredictable, but always glamorous world of fashion. From breaking fashion news to runway reviews to innovative new products to fashion personalities, Fashion Reverie gives consumers a front-row purview into all things fashion.

That said; no matter how fantastic a runway collection is or how incredible a model looks in a new campaign, at the end of the day nothing beats giving back!! DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) knows all about giving back. With their philanthropic platform, Shoe Lovers Care, DSW is committed to giving back to the community, particularly those suffering economic hardships.

With this DSW initiative, DSW, from August 4–21, lends their hand to fight poverty by launching their kids shoe drive directed toward those who cannot fend for themselves. All shoe donations with go to the non-profit Soles4Soles, an organization dedicated to fighting the impact of global poverty.

As a run-up to this shoe drive, on August 2 DSW produced a midsummer celebration inspired by the Tom Hanks’ classic “Big,” where kids and adults could let the child inside shine through. The event included a supersized piano keyboard where kids and adults alike could  hop and shuffle out dance tunes just like in the movie “Big.” And nine-year old Kai Song spinning top 40 hits added to the festive night of hot dogs, snow cones, on the rooftop of the Loft & Garden at Rockefeller Center.

To be involved in this initiative, drop off shoes at any DSW store nationwide.
