Editor’s Picks: Britney Spears’ Bridal Look Is Accessible

It is the third time around for pop icon Britney Spears. And hopefully three is the charm. Whether this marriage lasts or becomes a part of a series of nuptials, one cannot deny the beautiful wedding gown that Britney donned on her wedding to third husband Sam Ashgari.

For her third wedding Britney wore a Versace gown designed by Donatella Versace, a great choice. This simple, though very sophisticated bridal gown is the dream bridal gown of many young brides to be. Britney wore a sculptural, very-Versace floor-length wedding dress complete with a sleek portrait neckline, corset bodice, a sky-high skirt slit, pearl buttons dotting the backline, a 10-foot train and a 15-foot veil. It is reported that this gown took about 700 hours to make.

Still, this luxury bridal gown—price point between $15,000 and $20,000—is out of the financial reach of most June brides to be. Fashion Reverie to the rescue. We are always looking for alternatives for our viewers who cannot afford many of the luxury garments donned by celebs and folks who have deep pockets. We also seek to provide consumers with options and expand our viewers choices by presenting designers/brands that are not household names.

We start with Ines di Santo. Fashion Reverie attended Ines di Santo’s spring 2023 bridal presentation and we were blown away by her incredible collection with a wide of bridal silhouettes and perspectives.

This very modern bridal gown with sculpted and contoured bodice with high-slit gown is a great alternative to Britney Spears’ Versace bridal gown. Though this bridal gown is very pricey and requires deep pockets, this bridal creation is more accessible. Remember, Spears’ bridal gown was custom made, unlike Ines di Santo’s similar bridal gown.

Sachin & Babi is always a fantastic go-to bridal brand for June brides. Sachin & Babi were one of the few bridal brands that produced a live runway show during New York International Bridal Week. And Fashion Reverie was there, front and center.

The Sachin & Babi “Martina” gown comes in a matte faille, each detail is slightly unique yet familiar. The one-shoulder with soft pleating detail feels a bit Grecian goddess-like. This gown is a great find at only $750.

If you are not aware of Lihi Hod, you should be. Launched in 2010, Lihi Hod brought all of her experience working for Dior, alongside side John Galliano to her eponymous bridal brand.

Hod’s sculpted and contoured bodice with high-slit gown reflect the same design aesthetic found in Versace’s custom-made gown. Both are beautiful and can make any June bride ecstatic. Still, there is two differences. Lihi Hod’s bridal gown is not custom-made and more accessible, and the price point is significantly lower than Versace’s custom-made gown.

Fashion Reverie always delivers. Get that celebrity look without the hassle of out of reach price points.

It’s hard to resist this beaded beauty by STAUD in one of their classic silhouettes, the Tommy bag. The sunset stripe is one of many color options you can choose from. This is a great bag that you can easily keep track of for those long summer nights where you lose track of time and end up being out from sunset to sunrise.

MARNI Tropicalia Micro Bag in Leather and Striped Canvas $650

Who doesn’t love a micro bag!? Marni’s take on the micro bag trend is a great choice if you are thinking of spending majority of your summer by the coast. In a blue, green, and white striped canvas with an embroidered logo leather details and straps, this bag is meant to be seen by the water. With a crossbody strap it is an easy handbag to carry with you from one destination to the next.

Edie Parker Slim Jean DTF $895

FENDI Brooch Mini Baguette Fendace Black Leather Bag with Gold FF Motif $5600

The classic Fendi Baguette is now adorned in the Gold FF Motif in Fendi’s newest collaboration with Versace: Fendace. The bag perfectly blends the iconic brand images of two widely known Italian designer brands. The color combination of black and gold screams luxury and opulence. People are sure to spot you in the crowd when carrying around this gorgeous handbag.

Chloé Medium Kayan Tote Bag $2090

For a chic and effortless carryall tote bag that is different than the basket bag that everyone and their mother owns, look no further than this Chloé tote. The cut-out structure of this vegetable-tanned calfskin leather bag recalls the signature scallops of this well-known brand that is known for its equestrian references. With a removable linen pouch this bag is great for those summer journeys that seem like they may last forever.

Editors’ Pick: ZCRAVE Can Give Any Wardrobe Sparkle and Flash

Images courtesy of Seventh House PR

Are just itching to get out and frolic, party or just celebrate spring weather? Of course, you are!! But now the question is, what to wear for that night out on the town and party til you drop festivity. Remember, we have been locked down with limited party choices for almost two years. So, the garments in your wardrobe may not be the most trendy or fashionable garments to express your great joy at going out again.

Fashion Reverie to the rescue!! Well, particularly if you are in the New York City tristate area.

At this present time anyone entering the retail market would proced with caution and trepidation. Still, the fashion industry did not become the great industry that it is with cautious intention. Sometimes it is best to throw caution to wind and follow your heart and your passions. And that is what Hila Shtork Zigdon of ZCRAVE has done.

With a background in apparel, working for Puma, Nike, and Umbro, Hila Shtork Zigdon has launched her own brand ZCRAVE and has created her own brick and mortar in the Soho district in Manhattan. This brand launch and brick and mortar store is a risky move, particularly in these precarious times. Still, a life without adventures and risks is not fully realized.

Hila Shtork Zigdon describes her fashion collections as affordable luxury fashion. Similar to the brand name of her collections, ZCRAVE which stands for the first letter of her family name and CRAVE for wanting something that is difficult to obtain, all of the collections are centered around luxury-influenced garments that many fashionistas would like to have but cannot afford. Except that ZCRAVE’s price points don’t demand very deep pockets. Prices range from a couple of hundred bucks to $800.

With that affordable concept in mind, Zigdon felt it was time to open a brick and mortar. “The concept of this store is that anyone of any age can find classic and well as edgy garments that suits their particular taste,” explains Hila Shtork Zigdon.

Images courtesy of Seventh House PR

Zigdon has a wide variety of styles and influences in the ZCRAVE store. “Whenever I get upset about something I create something to offset my mood. Since I am upset about a lot that is going on in the world, you see a wide range of garments in my store.”

Humor aside, the ZCRAVE store in Soho will satiate and satisfy a lot of fashion palettes. Just ask Christina Milian and Adrienne Bailon, two celebrity devotees of ZCRAVE.

Editors’ Pick: The Sunglass Scene for Spring 2022, It’s Hip to Be Square

When it comes to sunglasses for spring/summer 2022, it’s hip to be square as Huey Lewis and the News sang in their 1986 hit single. Big, square, oversize frames were the biggest story that emerged when it came to sunglass trends for spring/summer 2022 as were lenses in all colors, particularly grey. Open the pages of American Vogue and all the major brands have their version of oversize square frames. Our picks are on the aspirational side, but rest assured that there are versions to snap-up at Zara and H&M if you’re not fully committed and just want a “for this season only” pair of sunnies.

But first, a little bit of history about the appeal of sunglasses for both men and women.

Images courtesy of,, and, respectively

Iconic moments in sunglass history for men include Jack Nicholson, who’s never without a pair on, from heavy black on black shades to frames with boldly colorful lenses. Tom Cruise was unforgettable in his gold Ray Ban aviators in the 1986 classic, “Top Gun.” And you can add to that list Samuel L. Jackson is often spotted wearing some cool shades.

Images courtesy of and

When it comes to women’s sunglasses, top of mind classics tend to be oversized, such as Audrey Hepburn’s tortoiseshell cat eye Oliver Goldsmiths she wore in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” very similar to Ray Ban’s iconic Wayfarer model. Once former First Lady, Jacqueline Kennedy, became “Jackie O,” after her marriage to Aristotle Onassis, she was seldom without her oversize dark sunglasses. Some were large and square, by Nina Ricci, and others were solid black and round; one of Ray Ban’s best sellers to this day are their “Jackie Oh 4101” model.

And now, Fashion Reverie’s top picks for 2022:

A trip to the upscale Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland, and a chat with *Ingrid, who works in accessories at Nordstrom’s sunglass department, provided insight into what’s popping when it comes to sunglasses this season.

According to Ingrid, the number one word is “oversize.”  While oversize square frames are firmly on trend, a softer rounded frame as well as cat eye shapes are good options for customers who want to participate in the current trend but prefer a more toned-down version. Aviators are a classic that never go out of style as are skinny wraparounds for sporty types who spend the day on the golf course and rely on polarized models for protection and brighter colors.

Oversize Squares

Images courtesy of Louis Vuitton, $890 each

This is undoubtedly the season’s most popular shape and a statement piece, no question about it. Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel scored top marks in this category. While the frames are huge, they are juxtaposed with unexpectedly slim gold stems that make them surprisingly comfortable to wear. Louis Vuitton’s late artistic director, Virgil Abloh, created the “1.1 Millionaires” currently available in patriotic red, white, or blue frames. S-lock hinges make for an eye-catching accent inspired by sunglasses in the House archives and evoke the distinctive eyewear popular in Al Capone’s Chicago.

A more delicate take on the season’s number one shape is Chanel’s “Square,” in metal and strass with a silver lens that looks as if the frames are surrounded by the tiniest pave diamonds.

Colorful Frames and Lenses

Image courtesy of Maui Jim Walilua. Polarized Classic Sunglasses with lava red lenses, $229.99

One of the winners in this category is from Quay Australia, a brand that’s a smash hit stateside for consistently delivering right on-trend styles at a budget friendly price, many in the $65 to $85 range. “Knightfall” is a large square frame with a tequila sunrise lens that successfully straddles two trends. Maui Jim has long offered fans polarized lenses. The “Wailua” has the look of Tom Cruise’s “Tom Gun” sunglasses but with red lenses aptly named “Hawaii Lava.”

Giant Rounds

Images courtesy of Chanel. Black Pilot $600

Chanel may well just about own this category. It’s hard to beat their iconic black on black shades that scream, “Step aside and don’t look at me.” Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, allegedly owns about a hundred pair and has been seen wearing them since she ascended to her position in 1988. What’s new is the updated version, the “Pilot,” a squared-off, large round with quilted stems and mini gold CC logos on them.

Celine has a new spin on “the Anna” as well. They debuted their “Bug” model, a heavy black acetate frame with silver mirror lenses on the runway that make for an upscale riff on the iconic one-way only sunglasses popularized by lifeguards in the 1980s.

The Cat Eye

Celine delivers a twist on this classic shape, white or purple frames with a squared-off bottom and gray lenses to consider. Right to you from the Paris runway are Balenciaga’s unisex “Bat Rectangle Sunglasses,” made from white bio injected nylon, also with grey lenses. The glasses accessorized looks 19 and 25 of Balenciaga’s summer 2022 Red Carpet Collection.

Wrap Arounds

Maui Jim has long been a front runner in this shape and continues to be a year-round staple for golf and outdoor sportsmen year-round. An interesting update in this category is Balenciaga’s edgy take, the “Dynasty Wrap D-Frame,” available in punchy pink or green acetate frames with gray lenses.

Images courtesy of Remo Tulliani/Very New York and Ray Ban. $165 and $180

Ray-Ban’s perpetual classic, the “G-15 Pilot” model, continues to be a strong go-to for men in all sizes. Italian designer Remo Tuliani says, “Quality never goes out of style” but that doesn’t mean afficionados of this style can’t switch it up a bit. For those who are looking for a departure from their basic aviator wardrobe, there’s Ray-Bans’ “Aviator Flash Lens”, a teardrop gold rimmed model with bright blue colored lenses. Remo Tulliani also has an updated version of the aviator, the “Smooth” model with the house’s signature Ash Lens in a medium “Blue Ice” shade.

For the Fashionista Mamas

Images courtesy of Bagnet

Purses can be costly, but no matter if your mom is spending $30 or $3,000 on a designer bag, one thing is for sure is that she’s probably sick of leaving it on the dirty floor.

Going out always forces any handbag lover into a dilemma, should you leave it on the back of a chair where it’s easier to steal, keep it in your lap for the duration of your meal, or place it on the floor. (And don’t get us started on the complications bathroom stalls without hooks on the door bring!) Enter Bagnet, a small bag charm that adds extra pizzazz to any purse and, thanks to its strong magnet, makes leaving bags at your feet a thing of the past. Bagnet claims their magnets will hold up to 8lbs, and we’re happy to report that even a rather heavy bag passes the test. In fact, the magnet is strong enough that we recommend being careful when walking too close to metal objects like poles or railings. Occasionally our bags were drawn to them as well!

Now, what if the table isn’t metal? Bagnet created a special ring (called a Perch) that opens and creates a hook to hang your bag on. The only downside is it can sometimes be a little temperamental and tough to open, but just like the magnet, it does work for even heavy bags, so mom is covered. Available at, $24.99 – $26.99

For the Jet Setting Mama

The heel compresses after you slip your toes into the shoe with their patented design, allowing the wearer to slip their whole foot in before springing back into place. Kizik’s are great shoes for traveling through busy airports, as they slide on and off easily through security gates. They are also amazing for running errands when your hands are full. They’re also helpful for anyone with mobility or balance issues who finds it difficult to put on a shoe like a sneaker. A big hit with our moms is how comfortable they are to walk in and how easy they are to get on and off—no need to sit down or tie anything! Available at, $99- $129

In today’s world, it’s essential always to be connected, which means we’re constantly using our phones to talk to friends, take photos, watch movies and share our lives on social media. Enter Clutch, a lightweight, super tiny charger with an attached cable to charge your device. This sleek, credit-sized card power bank won’t give you as many charges as some of its larger counterparts, but it’s the perfect companion if you need a little extra juice. It fits in evening bags, pockets, wallets, and some phone wallet cases. If your mom loves to chat or share pictures of her travels, this is one gift she’ll be happy to keep on her constantly. Apricoat Adventure 2.0

Made from 300 recycled plastic bottles, Apricoat’s Adventure 2.0 jacket is designed for rain, wind, and snow. The jacket is lightweight and breathes, but still keeps you warm and is ideal for a hike or a trip! It also has a removable hood and wrist gaiters with thumbholes, but what makes it stand out are the 16 pockets! These pockets are made to fit your electronics, gear, and sunglasses, and there’s even one to help keep you hydrated. We loved the small zippered pockets on the sleeves and chest for storing Chapstick, train tickets, money, and credit cards. There’s also an array of pockets inside with zippers for security and Velcro to access the items inside easily. We don’t suggest filling them all up at once as it feels a bit stuffed (especially if you don’t order a larger size as most reviewers recommend), but for the mom who wants to hike a mountain or even walk the dog hands-free, this coat is perfect. Available at, $179.00

90 Degree by Reflex Leggings

While there is certainly no shortage of companies selling leggings, finding a good pair can be challenging. A good pair needs to be strong yet flexible and must pass the bend-over test. For anyone not familiar with this term, it means checking to ensure the fabric covering your bum does not appear see-through when bending over. Not only does 90 Degree by Reflex’s leggings check all the boxes, but we love the side pocket to keep your phone handy. Available at, $44.99

For the Mother Who Loves to Entertain

Conair Knot Dr. Pro with Case
Conair’s Knot Dr. Pro Wet and Dry Detangler Brush is perfect for all hair types. Conair claims to be masters of “knotectomy” (the removal of knots), and Fashion Reverie has to agree. The brush is so smooth that you could even brush out your daughter’s or niece’s hair without worrying about causing any tears.

It’s also heat resistant, so there is no need to worry about melting it while blow-drying your hair. Plus, we love the hard case to protect the bristles, so you can easily throw this brush into a purse, gym bag, or suitcase! Available on $18.23

Kintsugi Hair

Kintsugi Hair is a line of products designed to renew and repair hair. Inspired by the ancient Japanese art form used to repair broken pottery using gold, Kintsugi looks at hair the same way and is devoted to restoring your hair instead of masking the problem with a Band-Aid.

Kintsugi co-founder and renowned plastic surgeon at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group, Dr. John Layke, explains, “We wanted to create products that contain natural ingredients and effective, scientifically backed compounds. Ultimately, we developed formulas that provide essential nutrition to the scalp and the hair shaft, so anyone at home can achieve healthier-looking hair.”

Whether you are looking to add a glorious shine to seal your cuticles with Kintsugi’s. Moisture Bond Conditioning Spray or bring your hair back to life in all of its silky luxuriousness with Kintsugi’s Infused Hydration, their full line of hair products will transform dried, fried, or thinning hair back to its natural glory in no time! Editor’s Picks: Unconventional Bridal Fashion Representative of the Changing Industry

The bridal fashion industry has changed considerably over the past decade, due in part to the influence of social media. Just a few years ago, the vision was one of white webbing lace, pooling silk on crystal heels, and trains made of silk trailing a carpet of petals. Today, there is not one singular vision of a wedding day. For a bride, wedding fashion has traditionally served as a symbol of hyper femininity wrapped in a draped white bow. However, with the legalization of same-sex marriage and a wider acceptance of gender identity, weddings reflect the couple’s unique personalities and a vision that is entirely their own.

Wedding dresses are most commonly associated with the color white; however, this long-held Western tradition has become saturated with a technicolor array of different aesthetics and values. In her article for INSIDER, “The Bizarre Reason why Wedding Dresses are White,” Chloe Pantazi revealed that the color association supposedly originated from Queen Victoria’s decision to wear a white lace and silk satin gown when she married Prince Albert in 1840. Since then, white has been regarded as an appropriate wedding color, with an 1849 issue of Godey’s Lady Book reading, “Custom has decided, from the earliest ages, that white is the most fitting hue, whatever may be the material. It is an emblem of the purity and innocence of girlhood and the unsullied heart she now yields to the chosen one.”

Clearly, this view is an outdated depiction of womanhood as a symbol rather than a person. So, what is a wedding dress if not white or traditionally structured? Today, it is simply a dress a bride chooses to wear on her wedding day that makes a statement about her culture, unique aesthetic, and personality. For this article, Fashion Reverie focuses on unconventional bridal fashion picks that showcase the changing bridal industry.

It’s a Nice Day for a Not-So White Wedding

Across the runways and in store windows, it is increasingly common to see wedding dresses of all different hues. As more brides turn toward creating a unique vision for their day, a simple white color palette does not suit everyone. Some women choose blush pink to represent romance and elegance, while others choose black to fit their gothic look. Designer Andrew Kwon’s chic chartreuse-colored gown from his “Dreamer” collection represents marriage as a renewal, like the blossoming of spring flowers. According to Andrew Kwon, the “Diana V2 Gown,” among other gowns from the “Dreamer” collection, “connects to the idea of place—the rolling hills of Provençe, the green mountains of Monaco, the skyline of Manhattan. Demure pastels—tart chartreuse, muted aquamarine, and easy buttercup—enliven with civility and connect back to nature.” With its layers of sage tulle, this gown is for the bride with an outdoor wedding venue filled with greenery and whimsy!

Say Yes to the Two-Piece Set!

It is important for brides to feel their most beautiful on their wedding day. Traditionally, beauty, femininity, and elegance are synonymous with large circular gowns carrying long trains in a princess-like style in Western countries. However, many brides do not feel like themselves in dresses, so the two-piece set is an increasingly popular option. Designer Danielle Frankel’s “Mollie” coat and pants set features a lace silk overcoat with lace-trimmed pants adorned in floral appliques, which depicts this trend. According to their website, Danielle Frankel’s pieces are designed “With a respect for nostalgia and tradition, but a forward and directional approach to a modern woman’s desires,” a philosophy made clear in the way she reframes the conversation around gender norms to create clothing that is new, fresh, and modern.

Cocktail Hour all 24 Hours a Wedding Day

At the same time that many brides are opting for two-piece sets, many are swapping out long traditional dresses for short party dresses or cocktail dresses. This shift is in line with the fact that many modern weddings are abandoning traditional ideals around formality. A long dress has long been regarded as the most formal type of dress, while a cocktail dress (or shorter) should be worn during “cocktail hour,” just before the evening begins.

These fashion rules are becoming less important to consumers, so many brides no longer feel the need to wear certain types of dresses at particular times of the day. Naeem Khan’s “Amadora” dress from his spring 2022 bridal collection perfectly illustrates this trend. Short, feathered wedding dresses have been so popular over the past year and are worn best by the bride who values glamor as much as they value fun!

Camp Meets Church

Some modern weddings are less formal; however, others are campy and so playful that they are anti-serious. Dresses from designer Reem Acra’s “Love and Dreem 2” collection perfectly marries a sense of playfulness and elaborate over-the-top fashion for a campy wedding day. The dress is campy in its traditional silhouette; however, its overly romantic sentiments scattered over the skirt and the adornment of child-like hearts and bows hint at a sense of humor in the design. This dress is perfect for the bride who is a playful maximalist looking for editorial-esque wedding day photos!

Vogue per Venue

With increased personalization and unique wedding aesthetics, the venue can vary. Many couples choose to have their weddings in unconventional settings, which calls for unconventional bridal fashion. The days of dragging a heavy dress through the sand are gone on a hot summer day. Brands like PatBO are creating bridal fashion suited explicitly for these venues, which is why a PatBO two-piece set rounds out Fashion Reverie’s unconventional bridal fashion list. This two-piece, off-white fringe set is not anywhere near a traditional wedding dress, yet it is ideally suited for a beach wedding which underscores the trend in bridal fashion aligning with the couple’s overall wedding vision.
