Modest Now Spring 2027

Debuting a new collection for spring 2027 on the Rooftop of Rockefeller Plaza is a dream for many fashion designers, and one that the founder of Modest Now, Dina Barber-Eski, can add to her resume. The collection, named Fatimah, focused on the theme ‘traces of time through the use of fabric.’

This inspiration was made evident as the models walked through the rooftop garden, every look layered with fabric, not only covering exposed skin to create fashionable options for Muslim women, but also to highlight the beautiful playfulness that comes from fabric textures, layers, and patterns.

Most of the collection shown was presented in the 2026 Pantone Color of the Year, Cloud Dancer. The creamy white wasn’t used as a trend or nod to the Pantone Color of the Year, but rather to nod towards the need for peace and prosperity, no matter religion or background.

Modest Now is more than a runway, or even a collection. The brand is designed to be a global fashion platform that brings internationally modest designers to the world stage.

The collection itself showcased layered, unique looks with chunky jewelry to create a striking, powerful ensemble. While the cohesion of the collection and thoughtful design showed through, the details of certain garments were lacking. Some skirts had what appeared to be unintentional loose threads, and some of the seams on different garments were roughly sewn. These minute details caught the eyes of some guests who were quick to wonder about the chaos behind the scenes in putting this collection together. The small errors were disappointing, but not enough to anger an audience of fashion lovers who found solace in the creative vision of a brand redefining what it means to be both modest and fashionable.
