NYFW Backstage Beauty Spotlight on LoveShackFancy

New York (NYFW) beauty trends are always shifting, from edgy and experimental to barely there, but the LoveShackFancy team always captures that playful feminine charm. For spring 2026, designer Rebecca Hessel Cohen sent fashion show attendees on a cross-country romantic prairie daydream. To complement the fun, free-spirited vibes of the collection, the beauty team built a look that’s equal parts fresh and timeless.

The Glow That Goes the Distance

Shyanna Lundi, lead artist for tarte, created two different looks to encapsulate the LoveShackFancy essence for spring 2026: “Blushing Romance” and “Western Romance.” “We’re trying to merge two beautiful brands together about femininity, being free-spirited, and we wanted to have the show be based on American road trips,” explained Lundi.  “We have the Blushing Romance look, which is the naturally flushed girl.  And then we have Western Romance, which is our cowboy girl; she’s a little more sculpted.”

To get the looks, Lundi skipped heavy foundation and opted for tarte’s iconic Shape Tape Creamy Concealer. To keep the complexion fresh and dewy looking, Lundi recommends taking a bit of a rich moisturizer and mixing it in with the concealer and applying it all over your face.  And if you have issues finding the right shade, “I always say match the center of your chest,” Lundi shares.  “The outer shoulder [can help you pick] your best bronzer [shade], showing how deep you can go … and the center of your chest is always the lighter part, so that’s going to match the center of your face … to keep everything well-balanced.”

For the “Blushing Romance” look, Lundi used tarte’s Glow Tape to for a soft, radiance in shades “Pearl” and “Golden” and Maracuja Multi-Stick in shades “Tutu,” “Sorbet,” “Primadona,” and “Sugar Plum.”  Go With the Faux Freckle Stamp was then added for a little “playful dimension.”  The eyes were softly defined with a wash of “Jetsetter” eyeshadow from the Tartelette In Bloom palette layered with Glow Tape in shade “Pearl” at the center.  On the lips Lundi opted for a dusty mauve with Maracuja Multi-Stick dabbed in the center of the lip and topped with Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump.

The “Western Romance” models wore tarte’s Sculpt Tape to give a more contoured finish. Cheeks were given a “sun-kissed flush” with the Maracuja Multi-Stick in “Sorbet” and once again freckles were added with the Go With The Faux Freckle stamp.

Another defining feature of this second look is the eyes which, thanks to tarte’s smolderEYES in shades “Tempt” and “Gaze,” give that smoldering, slightly seductive appearance. “We take the pencil and apply it on the eye,” Lundi explains.  “Then we take a very small pencil brush and ever so lightly, buff it into the crease.”  Brows are kept softly structured with tarte’s Brows For Days Framing Gel and Amazonian Clay Brow Pencil.

“LoveShackFancy has my heart, it’s the perfect partner for tarte. Together, we brought blushing romance and western glam to life with luminous skin, flushed cheeks, and that wanderlust cowgirl glow.”

Windswept Waves, The Luxe Way

Taking cues from collection which traced the bittersweet passage from girlhood innocence into womanhood, lead hairstylist Brent Lawler developed these beautiful tresses. “I was really inspired by early ’90s Ralph Lauren, romantic, running through meadows, kind of Americana,” explained Lawler.  “But I didn’t want the hair to look too polished or like she spent hours in the bathroom with a curling iron.”

“We always try to look at each girl kind of individually. The idea of everyone having the same hair to me feels very dated,” Lawler shares.  “When I looked at the collection, something had shifted. It’s still the LoveShack girl. She’s still cool, but she’s just a tiny bit more grown up and sophisticated … So, we wanted this beautiful wave, but soft, lived in and kind of cool and effortless.” To get the look, Lawler clipped the hair in sections with Goody hair clips and curled each section using the Bio Ionic 10x Curling Iron in both 1.75 inch and 2-inch barrels, keeping the ends straight and focusing the curl on where the hair would naturally bend for a more realistic look.  “I’m using big irons to create very soft, lived-in waves … nothing too tight or perfect, so it feels effortless, textured, and fresh.”

The curls are then brushed out with Wet Brush Original Detangler and then comes the star of the look, dry shampoo.  Lawler sprays in Batiste Original Dry Shampoo at the roots and worked down to the mid-lengths for volume and texture and that slightly un-done feel.  “Dry shampoo is my thing; it’s like my element … It’s just [helps create] a beautiful, lived-in look that I love and I always have.”  Lastly small braids are added based on the model’s individual overall look and secured with clear Goody Polybands.

Iridescent Chrome Nude Nails

“It’s pure Kismet that essie’s NEW Boho Rodeo collection and LoveShackFancy came together this season to create this perfectly ethereal and whimsical look with an undertone of cowboy chic,” explains Miss Pop, lead nail artist with essie.

At LoveShackFancy, Miss Pop developed the “Boho Chrome” manicure to perfectly complement the show’s aesthetic.  To create the custom manis, Miss Pop applied two coats of nude colored polish in essie’s cult favorite “Mademoiselle” or “Barn Boheme,” one of their new shades for deeper skin tones.

“Then comes the hero of my story. It’s the “Liquid Sunrise,” which will give you iridescent chrome, pearly-finish nails,” shares Miss Pop.  “Chrome is something that is so on trend. I’m going to be doing it a lot this fashion week … iridescent chrome that turns your nails into pearls.”  Miss Pop explains, “It’s the ultimate topper. Think shimmering sunshine with a subtle chrome effect, all without gels or a salon visit. If you love natural nails but still want that on-trend, iridescent look, this polish is your go-to. While we’re layering it over nudes here, it’s gorgeous across the spectrum; it softens reds into pinks, makes blues glow, and adds dreamy dimension to pinks. It’s the kind of shade that transforms any color into something special.”

The result? Beautiful pearly nude nails that are anything but boring!

Softly lit skin, perfectly undone hair and nails that shine come together to form the LoveShackFancy girl. However, you don’t need to be walking in a fashion show to pull off this beautiful look.  It’s effortlessly pretty, making it perfect for any occasion, even if it’s just Monday!
