This spring, cult classic, function-forward brands like The North Face, Barbour, and HOKA, are joining forces with brands like Cecilie Bahnsen, ERDEM, and Marni to fuse practicality with pretty. Other collaborations have their finger on the pulse of what is trending this season. A resurgence from one designer, and a collaboration with this spring’s hottest television show from another. Just in time for the vernal equinox, these collaborations will have you outfitted in the season’s best trends.

Juxtaposition is always in fashion, and it has the best shock value when it comes to fashion collaborations. Take The North Face, an American outdoor clothing brand that has been long known for its weather-wicking gear best suited for bracing the elements. In contrast, Cecilie Bahnsen is a Danish womenswear brand known for using hyper-feminine, romantic, and delicately designed pieces. This spring, the two brands are blending The North Face’s expert technology with Bahnsen’s feminine flair for a delightfully fun collection of weather-proofed jackets, flouncy dresses, and accessories.

Sometimes, a fashion collaboration has the power to resurrect a beloved brand. After nearly two years since Christopher Kane closed the doors to his namesake brand, he is teaming up with London’s Self-portrait for a collection that feels very “Kane.” Inspiration was evidently gleaned from Christopher Kane’s spring 2007 collection. The color palette takes a much more muted approach than that of yesteryear, but harkens back to similar silhouettes and textures from 2007.

Marni X HOKA
The sportswear fashion girlies are excited about this one! Marni X Hoka is a shining example of function and fashion. Italian luxury brand Marni is not one to shy away from boldness. Bright colors, graphics, and textural contrasts are all hallmarks. Hoka, similarly playful in color and design, is a cult favorite for athletic sneaker lovers. The co-designed BONDI B3LS sneakers, will be available in four colorways: Poinciana (red), Bracken (charcoal), Tourmaline (blue), and Straw (beige).

Going back to juxtaposition in fashion, we see it again with this splendid joining of English brands ERDEM and Barbour. ERDEM is another hyper-romantic womenswear brand created known for an emphasis on intricate floral and lacy motifs. Barbour is a classic, iconically British heritage brand known for its foolproof, weatherproof outerwear; namely the waxed cotton jacket.
In this collaboration, ERDEM’s feminine silhouettes introduce themselves to Barbour’s classic jacket. The collection features playful and peplum versions of the beloved British closet staple.

The White Lotus X CAMILLA
Every year that a new season of “The White Lotus” is released, it inspires quite a chorus of discussion regarding the mystery of the given season, but perhaps this season, the discourse will see an uptick in conversations about fashion, thanks to this collaboration. Australian swimwear brand CAMILLA partnered with the show team to create a collection of beachwear, fit for Thailand, where the show takes place this season. The CAMILLA team tapped Lezio Lopes, the Sydney-based artist behind the famous opening credits in seasons one and two.
