Champagne Blonde with a Kiss of Rose Hair

With over 60,000 hashtag mentions and a 60% increase in searches for ‘champagne blonde,’ it’s no surprise that everyone is looking to go lighter this year.  Even Madeyln Cline sported the popular new shade (in a slightly darker hue) at The Critic’s Choice Awards.

Redken, the salon haircare leader for over 60 years, has announced that 2023’s haircolor of the year is Champagne Blonde with a Kiss of Rose.  This warmer hue with the touch of rose, makes it now even easier to take the leap to blonde with a softer and more natural look, which flatters a large range of skin tones and hair types.  According to Matt Rez, Redken Brand Ambassador and Celebrity Colorist, “It is a soft, neutral color, with a strong emphasis on shine, that resembles a glass of your favorite sparkling drink.  It’s a blonde that looks good on everyone!”

The Gold Rose Family is the newest addition to Redken Shades EQ collection, the No. 1 demi-permanent color in the US and trusted by over 400,000 professional stylists.  The secret is in the Gloss Bonder which works by “blonding and bonding—the gloss helps repair weak bonds that are more vulnerable to breakage,” repairing in one step.  Formulated with a Triple Acid Complex it only takes 20 minutes for hair to look warmer, blonder, and healthier.  Redken offers their new collection in three shades, Sparkling Wine, Blush Spritz and Golden Fizz, each calibrated to natural undertones with a subtle rose reflection.

Metallic Lids

Swipe on a metallic shade across your lids for a quick and easy way to enhance any beauty look.  Plus, if you’re planning to go platinum (or slightly darker blonde) with a hint of rose gold, a warm metallic shadow such as Gen See’s Mixed Media Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow in First Light will complement your new look perfectly. Or try Gen See’s Mixed Media Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow in Desert Highway or Bronze Age. You can’t really go wrong with a touch of gold (or bronze) and a pink lip to add a little warmth to your skin tone. And the creamy, highly pigmented formula does not disappoint.

Another star with gold in her sights is Olivia Wilde.  She emphasized a gold breastplate which she wore to the LA Premier of ‘Women Talking’ with gold eyeshadow and rosy-pink cheeks.

Add a Subtle Flush

A little blush is easily the simplest way to get into the Valentine’s Day spirit.  At The Critic’s Choice Awards, Michelle Williams sported a gold one-shoulder Louis Vuitton dress paired with a pink cheek and lip, courtesy of makeup artist Angela Levin. Elle Fanning also opted for a flushed cheek for her Critic’s Choice Award makeup created by artist Erin Ayanian Monroe with a combination of L’oreal Paris’ True Match Super Blend Blush in Subtle Sable on the cheekbones and Barely Blushing on the apples of the cheeks.

For a touch of flush on the go, Gen See’s Clean Sheen Cheek + Lip Color is ideal to throw in your bag for a little extra rosiness on your cheeks or to give your lips a hint of color.

Full on Rose Gold

At the Golden Globes, Rhianna looked gorgeous thanks to makeup artist Priscella Ono. “We wanted to create a clean, refreshed beauty look using all rose gold hues as a soft juxtaposition to the dramatic structure of her gown. We kept the eye minimal and mixed different rose gold tones on her lips, cheeks and body for an all-over sheen,” explained Ono in a press release.  Using all Fenty products including Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil in Rose Rave and Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminzer in Fu$$y.
