The 2021Golden Globes were adjusted to a safely socially distanced event, mainly digital. However, many were still excited about the “virtual red carpet.”

Old fashion glamour was in full force as it seemed to be the trend for this Golden Globes. Though red-carpet looks were streamed in from around the world to celebrate the best in film and television, celebrities didn’t look to the digital age for outfit inspiration. Instead, Old Hollywood glamour served as a common theme. Some celebs kept their look sexy and chic, while others were a bit too casual. Yes, we are talking about Jason Sudeikis. The Golden Globes 2021 was full of amazing speeches and some really great gowns and cocktail dresses.

Here are Fashion Reverie’s favorites:

Cynthia Erivo in Valentino

Everything about Cynthia’s looks is futuristic. Her look does contradict our earlier old- fashioned glamour observation. But, this is why Fashion Reverie selected her look. It really that stood out. The line A-line, tent skirt dress absolutely calls for attention, almost overshadowing her huge chunky shoes along with the nose ring. The look is so unique!!

Emma Corrin in Miu Miu

What an amazing, classy, black-tie, awards-appropriate look. The gown nicely hugs her figure, but this modest style makes it “fashion” with the big, dramatic collar, puffy sleeves, and a very high slit.

Josh O’Connor in Loewe

Did Josh forget to take off his “The Crown” costume? Regardless, he looks like a true English gentleman. This talented man did such a great job playing Prince Charles and seems to have a very matching opulent style.

Sofia Carson in Giambattista Valli

Sofia’s two-colored dress screams drama. The grand cape with a shoulder bow is meant for red carpet glamour. This is Hollywood! Even though the red carpet was not chocked full of people or paparazzi, this silhouette brought out the excitement awards season calls for.

Dan Levy in Valentino

Well, Dan is getting a certain reputation. He is not shy for thinking outside of the box. This time he wore a neon suit with a beaded top and some shiny boots! This is the way to stand out on ZOOM and the special backdrop added to the drama.

Lily Collins in Saint Laurent

Lilly looked very elegant in this one-shoulder dress with a waist cutout.  This garment does show some skin while still projecting a lady-like appearance. This garment took some serious work and it sad we can’t see it closeup. It probably looks better in person.

Laverne Cox in custom Thai Nguyen

Laverne Cox looked red hot in a custom, caped gown. She is a superhero to many, so it is fitting for her larger-than-life personality. Red is always the way to go to photograph well and stand out. And Laverne gave the effortlessly chic vibe that works digitally or in person.

Some girls just want to have fun! This knotted bow gown just brings happiness in these bright, rainbow colors. It is a dress to dance the night away and Jo looks adorable!
