So, the 2020 Emmy Awards actually happened!! Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fashion Reverie wasn’t sure it the Emmys would take place, but it did happen with Jimmy Kimmel hosting a socially distanced Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night that was one of a kind and certainly history making.

There was no audience, but as we have learned, you can do a lot with technology. The Pop TV’s “Schitt’s Creek” had a most successful evening, winning all of the comedy categories! Of course, some of Fashion Reverie’s favorite stars dressed up for the occasion!

Zendaya got an Emmy nomination for her performance as Rue on HBO’s “Euphoria” and she won!! The 24-year-old actress is the youngest-ever winner in the lead actress category for a drama series.  Zendaya looked stunning in a Christopher John Roger dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Bulgari jewelry. Fashion Reverie loves the shape of her dress and according to her Instagram she loved twirling in it, too.

We are feeling fairy tale vibes with Robin Thede‘s Christian Siriano ballgown! COVID-19 free—since she was tested negative according to her Instagram—and with glowing skin, Thede was all ready for the show. She looked like Cinderella in those Stuart Weitzman shoes and statement earrings by MISHO

Billy Porter is setting high standards with his appearances on red carpets. With different styles and groundbreaking looks, Porter is almost his own competition when it comes to standing out on red carpets. He didn’t disappoint with a cozy, minimalist look. He wore a custom design from Ashi Studio with Lorraine Schwartz diamond rings, an ear cuff by Alan Crocetti and shoes by Rick Owens.

Tracee Ellis Ross looked red-carpet ready in a golden gown. Interestingly she wore this gold concoction on her own homemade red carpet. She also pretended there were paparazzi around her and her frothy Alexandre Vaulthier dress, with vintage jewelry from Tiffany’s. She also sometimes wore heels from Jimmy Choo.

The big winner at the 2020 Emmys was “Schitt’s Creek.” And Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy was also a big winner in this all black Valentino ensemble with a black mask as a much-needed accessory. She was beautifully accessorized in David Yurman jewelry.

Regina King was in a Schiaparelli Couture dressing looking stunning. Royal blue looked good on Regina King, especially with a silhouette that was very fitted. Beaded, asymmetrical couture, Stuart Weitzman sandals, Bondeye earrings, and Nouvel Heritage rings set off the outfit.

Dan Levy broke with Emmy tradition by not wearing pants. He wore a skirt; a kilt to be more exact. However, Levy did don a matching bright, grey formal jacket.  This entire look was by Thom Browne.

Shira Haas was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role in the  Netflix series “Unorthodox,” and it was her first Emmys’ ceremony. She wore a special Chanel Haute Couture dress that took over 1200 hours to make.

At this year’s Emmys, Tituss Burgess wore a tracksuit!! Yes, a tracksuit by Lee Rickie and shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti. Original yes, surprising sure, appropriate? Absolutely, not!!

He looked cute and we love the red color, but you finally have an opportunity to dress up and you wear something fit for a Sunday brunch with the guys? He usually brings more glamour to the events and we hope athleisure won’t become his default red-carpet outfit.
