Are you going a little stir crazy? Of course, you are. Self-isolation can cause the mind and body to become very restless. And restlessness and aimlessness can lead to mind fatigue.
Don’t fret, stimulate your mind and visual senses with Vera Wang’s spring 2020 campaign. And in this spring 2020 campaign Vera Wang lets her penchant for combining disparate fabrications and non-traditional silhouettes shine through.
This campaign culminates on Vera Wang’s 30th anniversary of her ready-to-wear collection. And her first time back on the runway after a two-year absence.
Wang in this collection vaguely drew inspiration from Edwardian silhouettes combined with a nod to the current trend of lingerie as outerwear. “I was searching for a new formula for evening that I thought was more modern,” Wang explained in a vogue.com review.
This collection featured hip-grazing chainmail slips featuring garter belts, sheer bra tops worn loose and unfastened over structured pieces, ruffled bustles, short shorts, and pelmet minis. And though this collection referenced Wang’s predilection for Edwardian silhouettes, the dark sensuality of this collection elevated the garments beyond a vintage homage to a modern reflection on dark romance.

This spring 2020 ad campaign was captured by photography duo Inez & Vinoodh with Vaughan wearing trumpet skirts, ruffled minidresses and flared sleeves. And the wildly layered hairstyles added a particular whimsy and downtown appeal.
Don’t let the coronavirus sequester inhibit your creativity and personal style. When this is all over let the glory and dark majesty of Vera Wang’s spring 2020 collection inspire you to express your own romantic whimsy and sensuality.
