Look like a Celebrity in Swimwear

Fashion Reverie knows how you feel about the beginning of summer! It is time for pool parties, beach, travel, maybe even summer love for singles or a romantic getaway.  Summer rays can be exhilarating but putting on the first bathing suit of the season can be stressful. Whether you work out, watch what you eat or do both, there is always a little “yikes” moment when donning the first swimsuit of the season.

That said: some celebrities look flawless in swimwear at almost any age, but for us normal folks there is a lot of trepidation around swimwear. After a little bit of tanning and few swimming sessions we all look and feel better. Still, we would all like to achieve celebrity swimsuit perfection.

Fashion Reverie has some advices:

#1: SMILE!

Rays of your smile will block all the negative thoughts and your lack of confidence.  Look at Lindsay Lohan. It is no secret she has been through a lot and is often been judged by entertainment pundits and the public. Still, Lindsay keeps bouncing and finding something positive that keeps her going. She is learning that there is nothing that is more important than being happy which brings positivity and confidence. If you surround yourself with “happy” even though there may be rainy days, some summer will be sunshine and lollipops!!

#2: Pick the right style and size!

Jennifer Lopez looks great in this cross-body top bikini. She is known for her buns, but that doesn’t stop Jennifer from bringing your attention to well-tuned upper body.  If your upper body is not bodacious, a smaller bikini top or a padded one might do the trick!! If your bottom piece is about to fall down every time you get out of the water get a size smaller.

#3 Emphasize your assets!

Show what you have! Some of us have great legs others have a slender waist.  Some of us have wide hips others have the narrow hips of a teenage boy! Well,  surprise nobody is perfect! So if you great legs, show them off!! If you have a sexy tush, flaunt it!! Don’t worry about the parts of your body that are less than perfect. Doutzen Kroes has some practice wearing her bikini to so her best assets; learn from her!!

#4 Pick a cool color

Choose a cool summer color and you will stand out and most people will be blinded by the fabulousness of your swimsuit. The love handles and muffin top will blend in with the rest of your look if you choose the right color. Not a bad trick, right? Brooklyn Decker can wear anything but this time Mayan tribal prints were her choice. And the color combination worked!!

Images courtesy of nydailynews.com

#5 Accessorize

Lupita Nyong’o is rarely a fashion victim. She usually nails it on the carpet and she seems to do the same on the beach.  We love this white, ruffle cut bikini. It is great color and fits for her well. She made the look more fun with a few accessories.  A waist chain is a very unique way to sex up your swimwear. And a very thin chain will not leave tan lines. A cool hat is always a great solution. It makes you look hip and it protects you from the Sun.  Of course, everyone needs a fabulous pair of sunglasses!

Vacation like a Rock Star

Downloads313Summer is here and it is time to pick a bikini, pack a bag, and head to an amazing vacation destination. Mere, mortals, unlike most pop stars, can’t hop from one tropical island to another; therefore, we have to choose carefully. Fashion Reverie wants you to feel like a celebrity, so we picked seven popular locales of the rich and famous!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt image courtesy of blog.sttropezhouse.com

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt image courtesy of blog.sttropezhouse.com

This is the only time of the year when we can use the advantage of European Riviera, so let’s start with St. Tropez.

Once a sleepy fisherman’s town that was put on the radar by Brigitte Bardot, St. Tropez today is a playground for Jay Z and Beyonce, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Neil Patrick Harris and the family, and many more. It is a great place to enjoy vacation-style luxury.  The Côte d’Azur is perfect for both a relaxing holiday or the bacchanalian nightlife.

Roberto Cavalli is a St. Tropez regular. He opened his own restaurant and loves to promenade down the coast. It is a place where you can enjoy some of the finest French rosè wine and come home rejuvenated. Fashion Reverie recommends Hôtel la Résidence de la Pinède with amazing views of the Riviera.

The island of Capri is one of the jewels of the Mediterranean! There is no celebrity that hasn’t been there! From Jackie Kennedy and Liz Taylor to today’s biggest names in politics, music, and television. Filled with amazing restaurants, historical sights, and best shops in the world, Capri will certainly give you the true spirit of the Amalfi Coast.  For hotel accommodations, Fashion Reverie recommends the Hotel Mamela, located on a quiet street five minutes from the famous Piazzetta Square.

With the World Cup madness centering Brazil, Rio de Janeiro is in the minds of World Cup fans and vacation shoppers. Rio has been a popular destination for many famous people. It is known to be one of J Lo’s favorite destinations. If you can’t manage to be here for Carnival, any other occasion is just fine.  The city’s locals love to party and will definitely keep you entertained. There are plenty of amazing beaches and there is the Copacabana Palace, Rio’s most luxurious hotel. Learn to samba, drink cachaca and eat heartily. Don’t worry if you gain some extra pounds on your tushy. Remember, Brazilian men love an ample derriere!!

Bora Bora is a place to completely rejuvenate and relax. It is a paradise on earth. So, it’s no wonder that hard-working celebrities occasionally need to stop by in need of some R&R. The most famous place to stay is the Four Seasons Resort.  Over-water bungalows are a very unique experience and local fresh foods and spa amenities add to the ambience of this exotic locale.

Last, but not least of our picks is Necker Island, an island in the British Virgin Islands. The island was purchased in 1978 by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Records and Virgin Airline fame. It is holiday experience of ultimate luxury, full of small unique retreats and with over 200 flamingos.

The 2014 Tony Awards Red Carpet

The 68th Annual Tony Awards were just “crazy pants” as Tony-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris would say. It is the biggest night on Broadway, and with so much talent at Radio City Music Hall on that special night, the Tony Awards is bound to be an exciting show that’s full of surprises. Hugh Jackman, the master of ceremonies, did the “Bunny Hop” through the auditorium, on to the stage and than backstage. For all of you that are unsure what inspired him, take a look at a clip of Bobby Van doing the same move in the Take Me to Broadway number from “Small Town Girl.” It was quite an entrance followed by some amazing speeches and performances. I am sure all of us theater lovers shed a tear or two inspired by the best of the best in show business.

Fashion Reverie kept an eye on those celebs that deserved to be listed as red carpet best looks.

Krystal Joy Brown image courtesy of Reuters

We would like to start with the person that caught our eye first, not just because of a great dress but her amazing upbeat energy on the red carpet. Krystal Joy Brown was brimming over with joy, and she didn’t hide her happy for one second. She was there to celebrate in a Maggie Norris Couture gown. With a deep neck plunge and open back that showed off her curves, Krystal walked confidently and ebulliently down the red carpet. Not just anyone can wear this type of silhouette and this young actress is well aware that she can!

Emmy Rossum shamelessly shimmered in a fabulous Ralph Lauren metallic Old Hollywood-style dress. The gown was fitted perfectly, and the gown paired nicely with Ralph Lauren’s fine jewelry.

Anna Gunn image courtesy of buzz feed.com

Anna Gunn image courtesy of buzzfeed.com

Anna Gunn went for a gold shade of sparkles in a Jenny Packham floor-length dress.  The actress looks far from “Breaking Bad “ and was dressed appropriately for the occasion. We say thumbs up (even though her hair style is debatable).

Idina Menzel image courtesy of buzz feed.com

Idina Menzel image courtesy of buzzfeed.com

Idina Menzel looked wickedly hot in Zac Posen. Now that she is footloose and fancy free, we guess it is time to show a little more of her voluptuous figure. Fashion Reverie hopes  Idina will continue down this path. Jacob & Co earrings are a perfect match and we are absolutely in love with her perfectly matching Judith Leiber clutch.

Courtney Reed image courtesy of broadwayworld.com

Courtney Reed image courtesy of broadwayworld.com

Splashes of color always lighten up the mood, and the “Aladdin” star, Courtney Reed certainly brought in a piece of bright, beautiful daytime with her. She impressed in Carmen Marc Valvo.  This shade of blue is ideal for her skin color but Fashion Reverie would prefer to see her hair in a chignon.

Vera Farmiga image courtesy of buzz feed.com

Vera Farmiga image courtesy of buzzfeed.com

The Tony’s red carpet is usually an event where people keep it simple by wearing black. Fashion Reverie contends that a long dress with long sleeves is playing it too safe.  In Vera Farmiga case we have to admit, she looked fantastic in a Stella McCartney frock! It fits her like a glove and as a frock with lots of drama keeps the mystery alive.

Kate Mara image courtesy of buzz feed.com

Kate Mara image courtesy of buzzfeed.com

Kate Mara is a pretty, young actress. Dolce & Gabbana makes beautiful dresses and the dress she wore to the Tony Awards is simply gorgeous garment, but didn’t have the right pizazz for her. Fashion Reverie thinks the dress just doesn’t fit her well and it was too overpowering for the modest “House of Cards” star.

Sutton Foster image courtesy of buzz feed.com

Sutton Foster image courtesy of buzzfeed.com

Sutton Foster was princess perfect in a pretty pink Reem Acra dress. She was nominated for her role in “Violet” so I guess she missed out on the opportunity to wear the color of her show. Jokes aside, we love the bandeau top and gold accessories.

There was another diva in pink attending. Hint hint …

Rupaul and Billy Porter images courtesy of buzz feed.com, respectively

Rupaul and Billy Porter images respectively courtesy of buzzfeed.com

The Tonys wouldn’t be the Tonys if we didn’t have few dapper guys walk the carpet.  Our two favorite looks are Billy Porter and RuPaul.

Cannes Film Festival 2014 Red Carpet

Collages346France was a place full of happenings last week! From Paris to French Riviera and in between it was hard to keep up with all the fashion, celebrities, weddings and awards. Cannes Film Festival is a very unique and special event.  It lasts around ten days and it is the film event we see most international stars.  From Fashion Reverie’s point of view it is sort of like a Film Fashion Week.

As a closing of the awards season and a warm up for summer parties Cannes Film Festival gives an indication of what to expect from those domestic and foreign films that have of a creative edge. That said; Fashion Reverie picked some of the most daring and fashion-forward looks from 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

Louise Roe and Jessica Chastain images courtesy of harpersbazaar.com and huff.to, respectively

Louise Roe and Jessica Chastain images courtesy of harpersbazaar.com and huff.to, respectively

In honor of the Côte d’Azur we start with Louise Roe in Calvin Klein collection. This fitted, royal blue dress with a sexy high, split fits her perfectly. She looks comfortable and appropriately dressed.  The dress is perfect for an important evening event followed by a night out. Jessica Chastain went for the same color but an Atelier Versace gown for the premiere of “Relatos Salvajes.”

Kate Winslett images courtesy of harpers bazaar and huff.to, respectively

Cate Blanchett images courtesy of harpers bazaar and huff.to, respectively

“Blue Jasmine” Oscar winner Cate Blanchett wore a fantastic fall 2014 Givenchy, with a beaded top and open back. She never fails to impress and always makes it look so easy ruling red carpets.

The great thing about Cannes is that we get to see a wide range of styles. At Cannes you are not limited to just red carpet evening gown attire. Celebs show us how they dress for important luncheons, lounging by the pool or just an evening on a yacht.

Blake Lively image courtesy of zimbio.com

Blake Lively image courtesy of zimbio.com

Blake Lively was one of the most talked about celebrities during Cannes. We know she is good at picking breathtaking gowns but this time Fashion Reverie picked one of her more “casual” looks.  The “Gossip Girl” star looks flawless in Giambattista Valli and our guess is that if she were not an actress she would definitely be a stylist.

Rita Ora image courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Rita Ora image courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Rita Ora is a chameleon when it comes to style as she changes her look constantly. Here she is wearing Roberto Cavalli in peacock colors. She is kicking it back at Belvedere Vodka’s Cannes party.

Izabel Goulart image courtesy of harpers bazaar.com

Izabel Goulart image courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Izabel Goulart turned heads at Grisogono “Fatale in Cannes” party. In Fashion Reverie’s opinion Izable represented the biggest rose diamond in Elie Saab. We have seen many Elie Saab dresses during the festival but this is a winner!!!

Irina Shayk image courtesy of huff.to

Irina Shayk image courtesy of huff.to

Irina Shayk caused quite a stir in Atelier Versace. When Fashion Reverie first saw this dress on the runway, we assumed it would be worn during Grammys or another big award season red carpet.  Irina Shayk chose to flaunt this dress at “The Search” premiere in Cannes. We are a bit conflicted by this look. It is obviously inspired by a harem garment, but is a bit shy of material. Fashion Reverie would rather see it on a celeb with a darker complexion and on a different occasion. Overall, this dress is very unique.

nikole

Paz Vega and Nicole Kidman images courtesy of elle.com and eonlin.com, respectively

Beige is always a go-to color on the Riviera. Nikole Kidman shows her softer side during a photo shoot, conjuring up Princess Grace. Kidman wears Altuzarra and seems to be enjoying this event.

Spanish diva, Paz Vega also chose being in a similar shape and midi length dress but much dressier and perfectly appropriate for the evening.  She is the picture of perfection in Elie Sabb Couture cocktail dress paired with Chopard jewels.

Sharon Stone images courtesy of huff.to

Sonia Roland and Sharon Stone images courtesy of huff.to

French actress Sonia Rolland made a grand entrance for the premiere of “Timbuktu” in a Zuhair Murad fall 2014 gown. Maroon, sheer, lace gown with a cape detail deserves kudos!!

Sharon Stone opted for maroon rouge and looked très bien braless in Roberto Cavalli. Our jaws dropped at how the penultimate femme fatale Ms. Stone stunned in this look!!

Celebrity Style Alert: Celebrity Watch Roundup

While most shoppers think of wristwatches as a common accessory, that was not always the case. Watches have evolved from spring-driven clocks, which appeared in 15th century Europe to a high fashion accessory with price points for consumers with deep pockets. Elizabeth I of England received a wristwatch from Robert Dudley in 1571, which was called an arm watch at the time.  From their inception, women mostly wore wristwatches, with men using pocket watches until the early 20th century.

Today, wristwatches and antique pocket watches are fashioned as jewelry or collectibles. This point of view has created a variety of retail markets. Some watches are marketed for their functionality, while some timepieces are marketed as luxury items.

Because of consumer demand for stylish, high fashion timepieces have evolved watches from functional timekeepers to luxury items that come in a variety of styles. From dials and bracelets to high-end packaging and marketing, big fashion houses started to develop their own lines.

Watch connoisseurs expect the best from iconic fashion houses and the competition among high-end watch brands is fierce. In past decades big fashion houses sought mainly to entice female consumers, however, in recent years the menswear market has gathered steam, causing big brands to recognize male consumers as an untapped new market.

As the luxury market now looks to high profile celebs as the face of their timepieces, Fashion Reverie has rounded up a few stars that know how to wear watches well!

Celebrity Style: 2014 Met Gala

1399350912_met-gala-best-dressed-350The biggest fashion night of the year is over but it left some greatest fashion moments and memories! This year brought some changes and after a two-year renovation and complete reconfiguration, The Costume Institute space at The Metropolitan Museum of Art will reopen as the Anna Wintour Costume Center. First Lady Michelle Obama cut the ceremonial ribbon and officially opened inaugural exhibit: “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” on the morning of May 5th 2014.

“The new space allows us to rethink our approach to the display of historic costume and contemporary fashion,” said Harold Koda, Curator of The Costume Institute.

Charles James image courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Charles James, known as “America’s First Couturier” produced a relatively small number of garments over his four decades long career, but he is renowned for his structured creations.  According to Harold Koda, “James helped transform fashion” and among some of his iconic garments are curve-hugging “Siren” dress, ribbon capes and dresses, front-point drapery, poufs, zippers on the back of our dresses, and the unforgettable “Clover Leaf” dress with four-lobed skirt.

At the 2014Met Ball, James’ structured gowns were the inspiration and served as a focal point for several of the outfits worn by celebrities. Fashion Reverie is taking you back to the red carpet by choosing some of our favorite and most interesting looks.

Coco Brandolini image courtesy of astairwaytofashion.com

Coco Brandolini might not be an A-list celebrity, but she is our big winner in style. In Dolce and Gabbana Alta Moda fall/winter 2013 ,we see a painting of Saint Mark’s Square in Venice, by the 18th-century Italian painter Canaletto. What a breathtaking gown with a little bit of history. She paired it with a renaissance-like necklace and for Fashion Reverie was an example of how one should attend the Met Gala.

Tabitha Simmons image courtesy of vogue.com

Tabitha Simmons chose the same design team but from Alta Moda 2014. This flower child went big and definitely didn’t go home unnoticed.

There are few other fantastic looks by the same designer that we simply had to share.  Monica Bellucci and Giovanna Battaglia Viva Italia! If there were a necklace contest these two would most definitely be big competition for other nominees.

Bee Schaffer image courtesy of usmagazine.com

Bee Schaffer has fashion in her genes and she definitely made the right choice with a BEEautiful one shoulder, baby blue Alexander McQueen mermaid-like gown. This girl has nice curves, as well.

Another British brand stood out this year on some svelte beauties. Supermodels Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman, and Kendall Jenner all opted for TOP SHOP.  TOP SHOP’s styles are fun and simply perfect for these young celebs.

Karolina Kurkova image courtesy of harpersbazaar magazine.com

Karolina Kurkova image courtesy of harpersbazaar magazine.com

Met Gala 2014 was a perfect opportunity for some American designers to shine as well. Karolina Kurkova was one of the most noticed celebrities of the night. The supermodel wore a Marchesa spring 2011 gown in a deep navy blue with a floral print. The dramatic shape and cut of the dress are a work of art.

Images courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Sarah Silverman, Karen Elson, and Liu Wen images courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Fashion Reverie knew that Zac Posen would be dressing a few guests, in that this occasion is a rare opportunity to flaunt dramatic gowns. Sarah Silverman, Karen Elson and Liu Wen were just some of the few that presented him well.

Some homegrown designers and some French fashion houses made their presence known at the 2014 Met Gala. And two of the most common colors of the evening was black and white!

Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Kendrick images courtesy of stylelist.com, Hailee Steinfeld and Katie Couric images courtesy of nydailynews.com

Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Kendrick images courtesy of stylelist.com, Hailee Steinfeld and Katie Couric images courtesy of nydailynews.com

Sarah Jessica Parker made quite an entrance in her big Oscar de la Renta gown. Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel asymmetrical crop top and Katie Couric in Angel Sanchez with white gloves also made everyone stand up and take notice. Hailee Steinfeld looked angelic in Prabal Gurung.

Naomi Campell and Beyonce images courtesy of harpers bazaar.com

Naomi Campell and Beyonce images courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Naomi Campbell and Beyoncé glowed in Givenchy. Still, Fashion Reverie’s favorite in this case is Naomi’s transparent mermaid dress.  The dress was just as impressive from behind, with a cutout exposing her toned back and revealing scale-like embellishments.

Charlize Theron image courtesy of hawtcelebs.com

Charlize Theron image courtesy of hawtcelebs.com

Charlize Theron looked ravishing in black and white Dior. She seemed like she was happy. Fashion Reverie is not sure if her happiness stems from the stunning Dior gown or because of a first public appearance with her beau Sean Penn.

Fashion Reverie enjoyed watching all the arrivals but we have to admit we missed Madonna. The rumor is her outfit was not approved so she decided to stay home. Oh well until next year…

Tribeca Film Festival 2014 Fashion Recap

Dior_I_02Fashion Reverie kick started the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival by visiting the red carpet of “Dior and I.” Filmmaker, Frederic Tcheng, who is already known in the fashion world after co-producing “Valentino: The Last Emperor” and directing “Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel.” This time, Tcheng took on “Dior and I” as his primary project. Tcheng follows Dior creative director Raf Simons as he creates his first collection for the fall/winter 2013 season.

The main focus of this documentary is the process of making that special one of a kind garment. Frederic Tcheng leads us behind the scenes where we get to know the Dior seamstresses and attendees at the Dior runway show.

Dior_I_01Harvey Weinstein attended the premiere and he shared his opinion with Fashion Reverie:

“Movie is great, I came to support it. It is really fun. You watch the process as I do every day because I live with it. You really watch the art of what these designers go through. Trust me, until I met Georgina, I had no idea.”

“When you see Raf, and what he goes through in this movie it’s quite incredible to watch him and than you realize it is an art.  If you have told me ten years ago, before I met Georgina that fashion was art, I was probably at the Yankee’s stadium at the time.  It’s a good movie for all of you guys. “

As New York City’s most fabulous film festival wrapped up, Fashion Reverie pick out our favorite celebrity looks.

Watch out Fashion Reverians spring is in the air and so are lighter colors and more skin! We noticed a lot of cherry blossom and pale pink.

Zoe Levine wore fabulous Elie Saab pre-fall 2014 lace pleated dress.  She pairs it with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and looked perfect neck down. Hairstyle is debatable and I leave it up to you.

GRETA_redone

Images courtesy of becauseiamfabulous.com and elle.com

Greta Gerwig wore a similar silhouette. Chanel tweed dress flattered her figure and mid sleeves on both are perfect for our hot and cold weather.

EMMA-redone

Emma Watson images courtesy of Pinner Marita Cuevas

Emma Watson looked super cute in a wrap around top and a mini skirt. We loved the Narciso Rodriquez look and her rose gold cuff bracelet. As for the shoes I guess you guys get the message, Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals are IN.

Sofia Vergar images courtesy of elle.com

Sofia Vergar Nikki Reed images courtesy of elle.com

Lace and sheer diaphanous fabrics are definitely trending back. Sofia Vergara and Nikki Reed are there to prove it.  Sofia wore a white fitted Zuhair Murad creation. Fashion Reverie’s concern is that the dress is too long and somewhat bridal. Still, Vergara continues to bring the vava voom. Nikki found a perfect fit in a Lela Rose lace dress; black always works for her.

Images courtesy of justjared.com and elle.com, respectively

Heather Graham, Karolina Kurkova, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead images courtesy of justjared.com and elle.com, respectively

Orange is (not just the new black) but one of the colors of the season. It works with all skin tones and most colors.  Heather Graham wore Robert Rodriguez and as beautiful as the dress is we would have preferred to see it in on a starlet in her twenties.  Karolina Kurkova in Roksanda Ilincic looks less than a super model but we can forgive her this time and blame it all on her make-up. Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Vionnet wins this round. This bright orange knitted dress streamlines her figure and she also has accessorized well.

TONI_redone

Toni Collette and Bereneice Marlohe images courtesy of elle.com

Toni Collette in Proenza Schouler and Berenice Marlohe in Sass&Bide went for a white and gold combination, which is always in trend. This battle Toni wins because she looks effortless while Berenice looks like she is trying a little too hard with a little too much make up.

Hailee Seinfeld image courtesy of glamour.com

Hailee Steinfeld image courtesy of glamour.com

These were Fashion Reverie’s most memorable looks from the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival.  We saved one last look for you to share your opinion on. Hailee Steinfeld’s Valentino dress does have every color in the spring trend palette. But is it a little too much? You decide!!

What Will your Favorite Celebrity Wear for their Spring/Summer 2014 Wedding?

Fashion Reverie keeps you on trend whether you are a fashionsta in the making, trendsetter or a Miss who’s about to become Mrs. Everything that happens in New York fashion world is very significant and bridal week is no different.  In case you are getting married this year or just hoping to some day tie the knot, Fashion Reverie has got you covered!

crop_top-revised

Elizabeth Stuart Bridal Spring 2015 and Theia Bridal Spring 2015, respectively. Images courtesy of blog.theknot.com.

One of our favorite trends from the spring 2015 bridal collections is the crop top wedding dress! Never thought we would approve something like that as it sounds inappropriate for such an important day. However, bridal brands like Theia, Mira Zwillinger, and Elizabeth Stuart definitely sold the look this season.

cape_revised

Images courtesy of blog.theknot.com

Dresses with capes are another big bridal trend and it was all inspired by the red carpet looks from the 2014 award season. If you do it right you will make a statement, just remember if you choose this style you should not pair it with a big veil!

This spring/summer a lot of our favorite celebrities are about to get hitched so Fashion Reverie decided to style them with our best-loved bridal gowns from the spring 2015 collections.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher went from best friends to lovers to soon to be parents.  Rumor has it they might be getting married in May; however, no one knows if it will be a big wedding or just an intimate gathering.

Mila_revised

Marchesa Bridal Spring 2015 and Monique Lhuillier Bridal Spring 2015, respectively. Images courtesy of wwd.com

We “hear” that Mila will be wearing a dress by Marchesa or Monique Lhuillier. As someone who is always noticed for her stunning red-carpet choices, Fashion Reverie expects nothing less than perfection from Mila. (Especially with that perfect rock on her finger.) Since the actress is pregnant, choices are somewhat limited, so we picked one from each designer’s collections.

Marchesa’s puffy bottom will balance out her little belly and the lace work on top will draw attention to her pretty face. Monique Lhuillier’s gown has a very feathery aesthetic and is special with floral embroidery and an asymmetrical shoulder cover.

We know Mary-Kate Olsen does not like to show too much skin and doesn’t wear fitted clothing.  Still, brides to be never fail to surprise and Fashion Reverie loves to experiment with Mary-Kate Olsen’s look predictions.  Looking at all of the girly wedding gowns, it was hard to imagine Mary-Kate in any; most didn’t seem good enough for her BOHO chic style. But Fashion Reverie did find some looks that work form Vera Wang’s spring 2015 bridal collection.  We found two perfect dresses for her, and we hope she will choose at least something similar to these two looks.

Fashion Reverie would love to pick a tuxedo for Adam Levine because he models and is into fashion. Instead, we decided to experiment with his lovely fiancé, Behati Prinsloo.  Fashion Reverie hopes they walk the aisle soon as the Victoria’s Secret Angel is going to make a gorgeous bride.

Behati Prinsloo is commonly seen dressed in lingerie or with very little clothes on so it will be refreshing to see her in a gown.  Her body is rocking so we agree she should show it off. This blonde bombshell could go for a simple Lela Rose deep plunge gown.  Low V neckline is very in trend and Behati is of that rare breed that could pull it off.  Another option would be Reem Acra with a nice décolleté, but a little less revealing.

Hayden Panettiere, a petite Miss with a big voice and a boxer fiancé is expected to jump over the broom, as well.  We have seen her in some amazing dresses during award season, but when it comes to her big day she is keeping silent when it comes to her wedding gown choices.  No worries, Fashion Reverie has few suggestions.

Alberta Ferretti has a very romantic gown just for her. This light, very unique gown would make a match for the bubbly starlet. In case she wants to go a little more glitter and glam, a fitted Reem Acra is a great solution!

One of the couples that the world has been waiting to see hitched is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Just in case we live to see the day here is what Fashion Reverie would like to see Angelina in: Jenny Peckham bridal spring 2015. It seems to be close to Jolie’s style.

Collages284Now that the four major Fashion Weeks are over—New York, London, Milan, and Paris— Fashion Reverie looks back at some of your favorite celebrities whose trendsetting style from these Fashion Weeks keep tongues wagging and help influence trends. Our biggest inspiration and one of the most versatile when it comes to style is Anna Dello Russo. The editor-at-large and creative consultant of Vogue Japan is unpredictable when it comes to color, fabric or size or shape of her hat.  Seeing her outfits during Fashion Week season is better that the first row of any show.  Fashion Reverie decided to share just few of her memorable styles from the past month.

Ms. Russo is never afraid of colors. Here she is at Milan Fashion Week day two in Prada. The rainbow coat and a portrait purse was just an introduction to her McDonalds uniform look from the Jeremy Scott/Moschino capsule collection.  (Can you imagine Anna Wintour pulling this one off?) This “fashion maniac” went daringly sexy when attending Dolce & Gabbana in their high-shine red dress with Roman belt paired with pair of Prada sandals and mini Paula Cademartori bag.

Rihanna is a celeb that Fashion Reverie pays close attention to.  When she is not frolicking by the pool  with gal pal Shakira, she is making fashion statements.  Fashion Reverie picked out few of her cool looks during Paris Fashion Week.

Jean-Paul Gaultier will probably be responsible for a few of her killer looks this season. In this revealing Gaultier top, Rihanna manages to cover up just the right parts.  As the new face of Balmain she amazed the City of Light in a not so easy to wear olive green cotton and leather ensemble. Laced-up heels and bright lips added to the look.  Fashion Reverie loves both looks but there was a particular supermarket look we are not so thrilled about. Rihanna showed up in a dress from the Chanel fall 2014 collection looking like she is missing a few things.  Can’t anyone else see that this look was high jacked from the office women’s look the 80’s?

OK, some of you might ask, why is Kim Kardashian included in this list of trendsetting celebs. You have to admit that she was responsible for putting some of the trends from last season in Paris front and center.  Do you remember her Max Mara oversized camel color coat? Fashion Reverie decided not to leave Kim out!!

For Kim this season it was lots of leather, black and white neutrals, and a trendsetting jumpsuit.  We think she looked pretty good in all of them minus the big malfunction with the silk jumpsuit where we could see “a little bit” of her bra. Fashion Reverie’s favorite of her four looks from Paris Fashion Week that made was the combination of ruffle-embellished Givenchy skirt, Tom Ford heels and Celine fur-collar coat.

We have to mention Blake Lively known for her flawless looks who made an appearance at Michael Kors’ fall 2014 show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The svelte actress was wearing a deep green flower embroidered pencil skirt belted with a matching top. Lively was accompanied by Freida Pinto and Rose Byrne. The trio was coordinated in colors and style.

Rita Ora is not to be left out of Fashion Reverie’s celebrity trend setting roundup. Now with a Mochino runway show under her belt, she came out to celebrate in a cheese print frock, which is one of many masterpieces from Jeremy Scott’s Moschino junk-food print collection.

We shall wrap this season up with Katy Perry type of celebration. Katy Perry may have gotten booed off the runway for being late but Miley Cyrus was there to comfort her. Fashion Reverie thinks she should stick to using her voice rather than legs.  HELLO, we mean singing rather than modeling!!
