Cotton, silks, wools, or synthetics; if you had to guess, which fabric do you think is most commonly worn by both sexes? Fashion Reverie’s guess would be denim. And if you guessed denim, you would be right on target!!

We all have to thank Levi Strauss in 1853 for using denim to meet the need for sturdier miner’s clothes. By using brown cotton tent material, without knowing it, Levi Strauss began a clothing trend that today is a billion dollar industry. In Levi Strauss’ case necessity was truly the mother of invention—ultimately a billion dollar invention at that.

Over 150 years later, most consumers possess at least one pair of blue jeans. And every few years, blue jeans are back on the top of trending charts! This time around jean styles are untamable and everything is allowed! Celebrities with style are the ones that give us best way to wear blue jeans. Below are some of Fashion Reverie’s favorites:

Ripped Jeans

We see them on our favorite celebrities and on the street every day. Overnight, everyone got the memo that ripped jeans is must-have for fall 2014. If you don’t have a pair of stylish rips, purchase a pair before inventory runs out.

When purchasing rips, it is best to stick to the style that works for your body type. And if you don’t find the right pair in stores, there are plenty of DIY tricks you can look for online. For the DIY option you can even use an old pair, so it’s a pretty sweet deal. Selena Gomez prefers the white top and blue jeans combination; Olivia Palermo looks very fancy fetching a coffee while walking her pooch.

Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits made of any fabric are fabulous, but not every girl can wear a jean jumpsuit. You have to be confident, and you need to know how to accessorize. Whether you decide to go effortlessly cool, running your mommy errands like Gwen Stefani or sporty wearing platforms like Kourtney Kardashian, you will be the center of attention.

Double Denim

Matching denim tops and denim skirts are another option if you are a girly girl and you don’t wear pants that often. Rihanna added a metallic black cap, which made the look edgier, and Beyoncé certainly knows how to show off her tiny waist in a denim pencil skirt. This type of look should be easy to achieve especially for hourglass- shaped girls because denim keeps everything in place!

Folded Bottom

Sometimes our skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans seem too long. We believe that is how the folded bottom idea came about and we love it! It just adds and extra wow factor to the look. There are few options. The clean cut is carefully, neatly about two inches cuffed. It is more for a classic type of girl. Another option is the carefree cuff. Fold the bottoms thinner and make them a little messy. It is for more of a BOHO chic gal. Hollywood loves this option and celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Michelle Gellar each have their favorites.

Useful tips:

1) Do not throw away old jeans. When the time comes try to style it into a whole new, current look.

2) Man shirts are a great option for minimalists. It is a perfect base for great accessories.

3) If you find a vintage or a Chanel denim bag, by all means if you can afford it, buy it!!

Celebrity Fashion Alert: For Angela Basset Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number

Age ain’t nothing but a number. And Angela Bassett brings truth to that adage in her recent editorial in Violet Grey’s online magazine The Violet Files. At 55, Angela Bassett is not letting any grass grow under her feet and her editorial in The Violet Files that shows her prepping for a red carpet appearance proves that she is as fit and sexy as she was 20 years ago in “What’s Love Got To Do With It.”

“Well, it only takes me about 10 minutes! I start thinking about it in the car on the way home. Do I want to be flirty? Sensual? Powerful? Then I try to dress for that feeling. My husband [actor Courtney B. Vance] always says ‘Lord, you’ve made something out of nothing, how did you do that?,” explains Bassett in her recent interview for The Violet Files.

Dressed seductively in Tom Ford and Kiki de Montparnesse, The Oscar and Emmy–nominated Bassett sizzles in this photo editorial interviewing demonstrating that all those years of working out and eating well is still paying off. “I try to watch my diet so I can fit into whatever I am wearing. Summer time … heat is on the rise and so are our hormone levels. It is the best season for travel, for meeting new people and for adventure. Warmer temperatures and sunlight increases Vitamin D levels that can promote happiness. And when happier you may step outside of your comfort zone and be more open to summer flings.

Well celebrities are no different than us mere mortal sun worshippers. Each summer beach season new stylish celebrity couples are revealed, so Fashion Reverie singled out our favorites. Will these summer crushes last or they are just short flings? What about their fashion sense, is it a match?

She is known to be one of the sexiest Latinas in Hollywood and he is known to be one the sexiest werewolves, well on the big screen. Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello did not verbally confirm that they are an item but pictures speak a thousand words. Most fans think the couple is adorable and even Modern Family costar Julie Bowen approves of their relationship calling it a “Genetic Explosion.” We think that this relationship has great potential and will last. As for the fashion, it seems they already started coordinating their wardrobes.

Heidi Klum and Vito Schnabel did start seeing each other earlier this year but since May in Cannes the two have been much more public and it is hard not to mention their PDA style. Despite the thirteen years age gap and disapproval of Klum’s ex husband Seal, the supermodel and her beau seem to be going strong. Mr. Schnabel has quite a pedigree and is known to like older women. (He was dating Demi Moore.) As for their outfits Heidi is probably telling him what to wear. Who is to say this relationship won’t last? Well, we think these two will NOT be vacationing together next summer.

Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez are one of the most talked about summer hook-ups this season. They were spotted vacationing together in Italy with many smooching photos of this couple surfacing online. Michelle is bisexual and hasn’t been seen with a guy in a while even though some sources claim she and Zac have been seeing each other on and off occasionally and have a friends with benefits situation. Well, this was news for us and we are yet to see if this will grow into something bigger. Neither of them is in our opinion particularly stylish but they make up for it showing off their buff bodies!!

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden were first spotted in New York City on June 3^rd. We think that they are somewhat of an odd couple but love has no restrictions. Introduced by Nicole Richie these two seem to be moving pretty fast and are often seen together in public. Chemistry is chemistry regardless of (fashion sense) differences. We think this relationship will last—and not because OK Magazine already has a rumor going that Ms. Diaz is pregnant with Benji’s baby—but because they look so cozy together!

St. Tropez is a place where you can truly feel like a diva. Stripes are one of the trends we see in resort 2015 collections and Fashion Reverie suggest that you show off those stripe combinations the Côte d’Azur way. Well known and Academy Award–winning French actress Marion Cotillard looked stunning in Dior 2014 spring collection at last year’s Marrakech Film Festival so you can choose something from Christian Siriano or Antonio Marras 2015 resort creations to wear in St. Tropez.

No pool, no biggy is definitely a new trend. Swimwear and regular clothing combinations are welcome. Fun and bold colors are always the best choice for hot summer days. With a little tan, we feel slimmer, clothing fits better and it improves our mood. Bora Bora is not a paparazzi-crowded locale. But, it is a place where you can spend romantic evenings with your significant other. Valentino works well and sets the mood in this exotic locale.

Celebrity Style Alert: Fashionable World Cup Players

The World Cup 2014 is under way and the soccer fever has taken over the world. From previous World Cups, we’ve learned a lot about Brazil, who by the way has won FIFA five times and is the only team that has played in every tournament. And though J Lo, Pit Bull and Claudia Leitte can still perform and party to their song “We Are One” (OLE, OLA) it is still questionable if soccer fans who not are not fans of Brazil love hearing the song.

The question of the moment is what to do when you don’t like soccer but the rest of your friends are planning all of your social gatherings around it?

Fashion Reverie has some advice, “Don’t hate the game; love the players!”

Now fashionistas, there is always something we can relate to and we are lucky that the World Cup is filled with beautiful, muscular bodies and hot accents. These guys’ bodies are made for boxer briefs and designer clothing—David Beckham proved it—Fashion Reverie decided to pick just a few that look even better out of their uniforms.
