No, Fashion Reverie Editors’ essentials list would be complete without the inclusion of some man bags. For the fall 2015 season Jack Spade has created attractive grey twill Swiss brief ($375) with a flap that will make you look stylish and professional.  Rag and Bone also has a smart briefcase in blue canvas and brown leather ($395). However, if your budget is a bit tight, the Gap has a fashion-forward camouflage tote for $69.95.

Editors and fashion industry professionals spend more time waiting on line to get into fashion shows/presentation than exactly witnessing the great fashion strutting down the catwalk. (A little secret for the fashion novice, fashion shows actually last about 11 minutes.)

At any rate, why be bored to distraction on the endless lines when you could be listening to you favorite tunes with the House of Marley BT Headphones (69.99). The House of Marley BT Headphones come equipped with Bluetooth 4 to sync with your favorite Bluetooth devices; A2DP stereo audio and powerful 40mm drivers; wireless controls on right ear-cup with integrated microphone; rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 8hrs of continuous play, and luxe padding and a Regrind™ silicone rubber headband made of recycled materials for ultimate comfort and grip.

Editors’ Pick: Hanro of Switzerland for National Sweatpants Day

Are you excited and enthralled about the athleisure wear craze? If you are, then National Sweatpants Day— that happens on January 21—is tailored especially to your fashion style.

And, remember in the US, we like to celebrate a lot of things. From National Secretary’s Day to Groundhog Day to now, National Sweatpants Day, there are many occasions that deserve commendation and celebration.

Still, National Sweatpants Day was borne out of the need to give homage to ‘jogging sweatpants,’ a look considered a fashion faux pas by most. National Sweatpants Day has grown to embrace the comfortable, utilitarian nature of sweatpants and with athleisure wear being a strong trend seen in the collections of some of the industry’s top designers, sweatpants or variations thereof are seeing a viable fashion resurgence.

The athleisure wear trend, athletic clothes that you can wear in non-athletic settings, has been around since 2014. And though some fashion purists believe that athleisure wear is just a fashion cope out by designers kowtowing to youth-oriented consumer markets that want to combine work clothes and work out gear, the trend does not appear to be going anywhere. Particularly, for those consumers that work in some nontraditional, primetime work environments, such as tech industries, media markets, and social media.

Hanro of Switzerland has some great pieces from their spring 2016 collection that work really well for National Sweatpants Day and beyond. In this 30th anniversary year of Hanro of Switzerland’s ‘Seamless’ collection, the brand has some comfortable, luxurious sweatpants that will not put a deep hole in your budget, but are also chic and suggest great style and fit.

From Hanro’s women’s ‘Rosa’ collection in porcelain rose and ivory bead that comes in a crop pant ($115) and long pant ($128) to the men’s ‘Luis’ pant ($160) in grey mélange and black iris, it is not possible to make a bad choice.  For more information, go to hanro.usa.com.

Editors’ Holiday Pick: ELOQUII’s 2015 Holiday Capsule Collection

Eloquii_New_EccentricCurvy girls rule!! And this holiday prove that point with ‘The New Eccentrics’ collection from ELOQUII.

This holiday capsule collection veers away from the glitz and sparkle found in most holiday collections. Inspired by trends seen recently on runway shows and the eclecticism and quirkiness found in Wes Anderson films, ‘The New Eccentrics’ collection has a clean and quirky point of view, a direct contrast to the sometimes over-accessorized, pop and sizzle looks of some holiday garments.  In fact, though the collection incorporates a bold color palette, there are no sequined items.Though this capsule collection is only comprised of a seven garments with additional separates, from bold dresses to sleek vests, the new collection embraces a quirky chic vibe with vintage silhouettes, clashing prints, heirloom jewels and bookish accessories.

Where some fashion brands that cater to plus size or curvy women try to mirror clothes designed for standard sizes without taking into consideration that a curvy woman’s zaftig silhouette needs special attention. Curvy doesn’t mean limitation; curvy conjures up more possibilities. And ELOQUII understands that, curating fashion apparel that fit the needs and possibilities of the curvy silhouette.

Editors’ Pick: Black Crows Skis

Black_Crows_SkisIf you don’t think skis can be a fashion statement, then you didn’t watch the 2014 Winter Olympics or you haven’t been on the slopes in a while. You may be aware of great ski resort fashion from Moncler to Chinti Parker to Perfect Moment, but if you are hitting the slopes your chic ensemble is not complete without fashionable skis. Remember, great fashion is a head to toe look!!

“Traditionally, skiwear has been perceived as quite masculine and sporty, but now brands are realizing there is huge potential in the women’s market for feminine, fashion-forward designs,” explained Natalie Kingham, buying director at the UK–based website Matches, in a wsj.com article. And corresponding to the growing trend of ski gear appealing to both men and women, Black Crows Skis is creating skis that combine innovative technology and fashion-forward sensibility.

Collages451For the 2015/2016 season Black Crows Skis is introducing two brand new offerings and five reincarnations, a new shape differentiation, duo-tones and three-dimensional patterns. In this ninth season consumers will experience a new differentiation made between two types of shape, single and double beak, distinguishing skis with a single front rocker and skis with double rocker (front and back). This technical division is incorporated into all four of Black Crows’ categories: big mountain, all terrain, women’s birdie, and touring free bird.

The stand-out newcomers in the ninth collection’s new models are the anima, a big new beast designed for freeriding and backcountry, and the corvusfreebird, a 109mm waist ski intended for touring. The nocta has followed a weight-loss program and evolved into the nocta air weighing in at more than a kilo less per pair, there are also the three new totally-revised camox (birdie, freebird and all-mountain) and the corvus has been given a new flavor with a modern single beak and a half shape.
