Oh, the Joy of Celebrity Spring Weddings

Wedding season is upon us and at Fashion Reverie, besides weddings, there is something Fashion Reverie loves even more celebrity weddings! Right after a busy New York Bridal Week and lots of champagne, we are super inspired to predict some of our top five celebrity brides-to-be looks predictions.

Lana Del Rey and Evan Winiker

Lana is engaged to music manager Evan Winiker. Though they were engaged after a short dating period, their engagement comes as a very happy surprise. Both Lana and Evan are in the music industry, so their wedding should be lots of fun. The stylish singer could look amazing in the Madeline collection with an A-line skirt, puffy sleeves and floral print. This bridal look is different, romantic, and fitting for the star.

Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma

Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma announced their Disneyland engagement on February 19, 2023. “We said YES,” Rebel captioned her post. Now this wedding can inspire same-sex weddings. Rebel and Ramona are both stylish and stunning, so will they both wear a gown? Ines di Santo gave lots of options for the spring 2024 bridal season and she even presented some designs in pairs. Fashion Reverie thinks an option of a bustier with a cape and a more feminine, flower-embellished long train dress would be a vision of two beautiful brides.

Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker

After more than two years of dating Vanessa and Cole Tucker are engaged. These two radiate passion and love and we can’t wait to see what the wedding will be. As for Vanessa, Fashion Reverie suggests newly presented to the New York bridal market Nardos. Nardos has several options, especially for all types of bridal celebrations. That said, Fashion Reverie would love to see Vanessa Hudgens in a mini, bell-shaped dress with a long veil.

Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa

Kate Hudson has been engaged since 2021 so we are anticipating her wedding very soon. Dallas-based, Nigerian fashion designer Esé Azénabor has a gown in her spring collection that would speak to Kate Hudson. Esé Azénabor’s dramatic shoulders, volumized skirt and deep decollate accessorized at waist would be a great choice for Kate Hudson. Not just anyone can pull off this look, but Kate can!

Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey

On April 7th Olivia announced that the NFL star had popped the question. Christian McCaffrey got down on one knee and Olivia said yes! Now it is easy to get a gown to fit a model, so Olivia will have many choices. Perhaps, something from Rami Al Ali, in the choice of a strapless A-line dress with a beautiful, ruffled neckline.

Congratulations to the beautiful couples!

Celebrities Rock Spring 2023 Trends

Spring is here, and we are all excited about bringing some fresh new styles and colors to our closets. It is so much easier to style your looks without heavy coats and cold weather accessories, so warmer weather signifies it is time to have fun!! After all, isn’t that what fashion is all about?

Fashion Reverie takes a look at some of our favorite celebrities for some of the latest trends. Here are five fashion trends that consumers should incorporate into their 2023 spring wardrobe.

Images courtesy of Shutterstock/Chriss Pizzello

DENIM

This is a carryover trend from 2022. Since most of us have some denim in our closet, denim  is an easy trend to have fun with for spring 2023. Additionally, denim is such a forgiving fabric because you do not have to worry much about wrinkles.

Dakota Johnson was ahead of this spring 2023 trend. Johnson looked fashion-forward at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival red carpet in a complete denim ensemble.  She looked fantastic!

SEQUINS

Sequins can make you feel festive and glamorous, and this spring 2023 season’s sequins trend is taking this fabulous fabrication up a notch. No longer reserved for New Year’s Eve, this trend is seen everywhere. And if you find this trend to be a bit too much, try combining it with metallics or matte items, even simple accessories.

Sydney Sweeney rocked the Berlin Film Festival in a bold red sequin dress with a short train. It is not overwhelming, yet it gives us Hollywood glam vibes.

Image courtesy of the Dedication Awards

PLATFORM SHOES

Platform shoes have been in style for a few seasons; however there are some great bold, printed options for spring 2023. Singer Phung Khanh Linh appeared at the Dedication Awards in Vietnam in 15 centimeters high white platform heels, which is an ideal height for ladies who are not that tall. If you are tall you might want to skip this trend.

RUFFLES

If you want to add dramatic flair to your spring 2023 wardrobe, you need ruffles! Subtle or over the top, the choice is yours. Lizzo worked these ruffles in a couture gown by Robert Wun. Giant ruffles framed her body and made her figure look snatched.

PASTELS

Well, this one is easy. Beautiful lilac, yellow or baby blue could be easily matched with any other color.  Pastels can brighten up your mood.

Katie Holmes showed us how to do it in a sunny look in a matching set.  Katie is ready for any occasion.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross wore a lacey black Erdem ensemble with electric yellow gloves to the Fashion Trust US Awards. Fashion Reverie’s feels that this is not Ross’ best look in 2023; in fact, this red-carpet ensemble was a rather dowdy look for Tracee Ellis. Better luck next time!!

Taylor Swift

Swift does not disappoint in an Alexandre Vauthier silver-sequined hooded couture garment at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. Now, this is a great example of jeweled from head to toe!!

Emilia Clark

Emilia proves that less is more—well kind of—at a dinner celebrating the launch of Schiaparelli at Harrods in a Schiaparelli black suit with statement sleeves. This looks is classy with a small touch of next. You work it, Emilia!!

Anabelle Wallis

Continuing on the less is more trend, Anabelle Wallis was a stunner in a black Michael Kors black sequined turtleneck with black flared pants at the season 2 premiere of “Yellowjackets.” Now this is how you make a turtleneck and slacks ensemble glamorous.

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci is all grown up!! And she proves it in a Fendi black dress at the season 2 premiere of “Yellowjackets.”

Olivia Cooke

The color black was all over red carpets this week. And Olivia Cooke was no exception. Cooke donned a black Christopher Kane dress at the Omega Aqua Terra Shades launch at Somerset House.

The 95th Academy Awards Now and Next Male Celebrities Red-Carpet Looks

The epitome of Award Season is the Academy Awards. Though we love the Grammys, Golden Globes, BET Awards, and MTV Awards, when it comes to red-carpet fashion, no award show does it better than the Academy Awards.

As we all luxuriate and glory in all the beautiful red-carpet looks from some of our favorite actresses and female celebrities, little coverage is given to what some male celebs are wearing at the Oscar’s red carpet.

In this age of an expanded perspective on masculinity, Fashion Reverie has selected some great red-carpet looks from the 95th Academy Awards. Some of these looks are rather traditional, while some are pushing the proverbial fashion envelope. Enjoy!!

Austin Butler

Though Butler didn’t win Best Actor for his star turn in the musical biopic “Elvis.” But maybe winning the Oscar was not such a huge loss for Butler. Earlier in awards season, he won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA award for Best Actor.

At any rate, Butler was a winner on the Academy Awards red carpet in a classic, double-breasted, black Saint Laurent tuxedo, Now, this is a good look!!

Samuel L. Jackson

At this year’s Academy Award Samuel L. Jackson was a testament that style and charm don’t have to diminish as you get older.

This 1994 Academy Award nominee and 2021 Academy Honorary Award winter was sharp as a tack in Giorgio Armani tuxedo with silver jacket.

Harry Shum Jr.

There was a particular concentration on expanding the perspective on what is appropriate for male celebrities on the red carpet. And Harry Shum Jr. aptly represented this modern perspective by donning an Adeam tuxedo with blue piping on the white jacket, accessorized with an Obi belt. And the Christian Louboutin men’s cocktail pumps finished off his look. The perfect look for an Academy Award winner.

Paul Mescal

Though Mescal did not take a lot of risk with this Gucci white jacket tuxedo look, the cuffed flared black slacks did harken back to the 70s. Can anyone say, “Staying Alive”?

Lenny Kravitz

Kravitz is always expected to show up on the red carpet in something avant-garde or non-traditional. And at the 95th Academy Awards, Kravitz did not disappoint.

Kravitz’s 70s-inspired Saint Laurent rocker look says it all.  Sexy in your 50s, always pushing the envelope, and knowing what works best for you, is all summed up in this black-on-black red-carpet look with combined blouson sash.

Dwayne Johnson

A big, muscular dude like ‘The Rock’ is not expected to push the proverbial fashion envelope; however, Dwayne Johnson did. And body did he!!

Masculine enough to pull on a pale pink tuxedo. Johnson was pretty in pink and as handsome as ever in this Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo with black bowtie.

Though he still looked a bit blocky in this ensemble, who cares its Dwayne Johnson. Now other big guys can follow suit.

Greg Tarzan Davis

“Top Gun: Maverick’s” Greg Tarzan Davis brought a look to the red carpet that was both now and next. Davis really brought in an all-black Givenchy ensemble.

Ram Charan

Ram Charan proved how you can hold on to your heritage and still look fashion forward. Charan rocked the 95th Academy Awards in a custom-made Maison Shantanu and Nikhil black ensemble that included a black South Asian durga skirt.

Fashion Reverie’s Favorite 2023 Oscars’ Red-Carpet Picks

Hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel, the lineup of Best Film and Best Actor and Best Actress categories included the best of the best in the industry. Nominees included films “Elvis,” Tár,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” and “The Fabelmans,” and actresses and actors Cate Blanchett, Ana de Armas, Andrea Riseborough, Michelle Williams, Michelle Yeoh, Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Paul Mescal, and Bill Nighy.

Andrea Riseborough

This custom Alexander McQueen was made of pink lace. The gown looked very classic, accessorized with a metal ear cuff. It is a very refreshing Oscars’ look.

Cardi B

Cardi B swirled onto the carpet in a midnight blue gown by South Asian designer Gaurav Gupta. She looked glamorous and just dramatic enough for the occasion.

Lizzo

The zaftig pop singer looked like a bouquet of flowers in a Dolce & Gabbana dress with a hood. This was a unique look in a bright color, proving that curvy women can take risks. A little inside info, Lizzo couldn’t give any interviews on the red carpet because she couldn’t hear through her gown.

Beyoncé

The pop icon was fashionably late to the awards ceremony and looked stunning in a corset Gucci gown featuring a champagne-colored bodice and a metallic silver skirt.  The look included a high leg slit and ruffled hem paired with black leather opera gloves and silver strappy heels. Image courtesy of people.com

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington looked great on the red carpet; perhaps, this is the promise of a great red-carpet season for Washington. Kerry’s garment is a little bit of a “happy” look and, not very typical for Giorgio Armani Prive or Kerry Washington.  This garment possessed beautiful crystal embroidery.

Anya Taylor Jay

For the 2023 red-carpet season, Dior is looking very fashion forward. Fashion Reverie is in love with this nude haute couture Dior. This garment is quite embellished, and Anya is wearing Tiffany & Co diamonds.

Chelsea Handler

Well, this look deserves a tap on the back of Chelsea Handler since this pretty lady doesn’t often get glammed up, but she was the host of the Critics’ Choice Awards. This pale orange Maticevski dress is a great fit for her and such a great color.

Glamour and Surprise from the 2023 Golden Globes

The 80th Golden Globe Awards celebrates the best in film and television chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. After a one-year pause receiving criticism for the lack of diversity, it appears the Hollywood Foreign Press has been forgiven for their oversight with a bevy of Tinseltown A-listers making appearances on the Golden Globe red carpet. Overall, it was a fun night for all. The only exception of the evening was some not- so-well-received jokes by the host, comedian Jerrod Carmichael. However, the red carpet was safe and delightful, so here are some Fashion Reverie’s favorite looks.

Jamie Lee Curtis

What a perfect look!! We love a good cape especially for this Hollywood superhero. She wore a black jumpsuit and laced cape by Valentino. This look was effortless, simple yet impactful.

This soon to be mom looked amazing in this lilac Vera Wang with jeweled straps. Kaley was radiant and happy!!

This is a dreamy look in a Barbiecore covered in sparkly crystals paired by De Beers jewelry! In Fashion Reverie’s opinion, Julia looks like a glamorous prima ballerina.

Billy Porter

Is it possible that Billy Porter would never make the Best Dressed List? Of course, not!! This velvet, double-breasted gown with satin details is a great way to kick off the New Year and the awards season.

Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams looked stunning in as Gucci gown covered in ruffles paired with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. She looks angelic.

Image courtesy of Daniele Venturi/ Wireimage

Michaela Jay Rodriquez

If Fashion Reverie had to pick out a single best look it would be this inspired bow-like gown by Balmain. This garment moved with Michaela and looked mesmerizing from any angle.

Claire Danes

The Giambattista Valli dress featured the designer’s signature bow fully covered in embroidery. Fashion Reverie predicts that this gown could end up in a museum.

Laverne Cox

This is a little bit of a different look from Laverne’s usual red-carpet sensations. This is a vintage John Galliano dress from Galliano’s spring 2007 collection, proving that great red-carpet looks are timeless.

Style Icons that Will Continue to Influence in 2023

It is still the beginning of the year, so there’s plenty of time to think about getting your fashion game forward. Of course, each season is different and each year we change and so does our style. However, certain celebrities ALWAYS remain iconic when it comes to fashion. Let’s look for inspiration from those that lead 2022 as style icons. Here are some of Fashion Reverie’s favorites in 2022.

Images courtesy of harpersbazaar.com and people.com

Lady Gaga

She is like a chameleon.  Gaga changes her style according to her growth or in this case according to her role. The controversial film “House of Gucci” was great for her style. It gave Lady Gaga that old Hollywood glamour which she sometimes lacked in past years!! We love it!!

Images courtesy of redditt.com

Rihanna

Fashion Reverie loved her pregnancy looks; so innovative, glorious, and chic. This new mom continued pushing best looks forward even post pregnancy. Not a surprise for Rihanna whom we always considered a style icon.

Chloe Sevigny

Chloe always looks effortlessly perfectly put together. Whether on the red carpet or strolling around downtown NY, Chloe keeps setting those trends.

Mariska Hargitay

Mariska Hargitay’s 2022 red carpet season was on fire. She seemed very comfortable in her body, consistently experimenting with some new looks while mingling with the elite of the fashion world.

Images courtesy of tmz.com and people.com

Kim Kardashian

Well, the reality star and entrepreneur may have crossed some boundaries with her 2022 Met Gala appearance in none other than Marilyn Monroe dress, causing lots of commotion; with all the wagging tongues, “breaking the internet.” For that controversy, Kim K made a lot of best dressed lists. Since breaking some rules is one of the things that fashion is about, Kim K easily fits on our list.

Images courtesy of wonderwall.com and showbizcheatsheet.com

Harry Styles

He is the epitome of what the world wants and needs these days.  Styles is always sharp and stylish, yet not afraid of his feminine side. It is something not just any guy can pull off and Harry sure is an inspiration for gender fluid fashion.

J Lo

Newlywed Ms. Affleck probably wore most wedding dresses and bridal looks than any other celebrity last year. We of course have to blame her movie roles for that, but J Lo wore the plethora of wedding garments with the same passion as she wears everything.

Images courtesy of glamour.com

Sarah Jessica Parker

After tons of controversy about her grey hair, this style icon stood up against age shaming and pulled off some impressive looks. Which is no surprise since SJP has that signature NYC look in her DNA.

Lenny Kravitz

This list would not be complete without the addition of Lenny Kravitz. Since his ascent in music in the late 80s, Kravitz has been the epitome of style for those guys who are not afraid to mix vintage fashion with in-your-face sexy fashion that shows off a very fit bod.

Kravitz sense has evolved over the years, from his rock n’ roll sexy fashion vibe to the more luxury European style that he now dons. And you cannot his recent award as the CFDA’s ” Fashion Icon of the Year.”

2022 People Choice Awards Red Carpet

Before we all get too busy with the holidays, let’s enjoy another awards show with our favorite celebrities. It has been a great year when it comes to red carpets and these awards shows and the 2022 People Choice Awards with its purple carpet is the cherry on top! Held in Barker Hangar in Santa Monica most fashionable stars came out to play. Here are some of our favorite looks!!

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood sparkled in a sparkly suit by Any Old Iron. This is a really cool and comfortable look. Perfect for this time of the year and definitely a statement. Carrie looks very confident. Much bigger compliment than if her makeup was perfect, even though it was for this look.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox wore a Collina Strada gown. What is so great about this flattering gown is the color and the print. Totally unexpected for a ball gown-like shaped skirt. Everything else was minimal except for the statement necklace. Fashion Reverie feels that opera gloves would add to this look much more.

Lizzo

Lizzo is always having fun with her looks. Lizzo always opts for unique red-carpet looks. This time it is an off-the-shoulder Alexander McQueen gown. Fashion Reverie loves these colors and the print. It is also very flattering for her figure. And don’t think we did not see those great matching booties.

Ellen Pompeo

Ellen Pompeo wore a metallic, multicolored jumpsuit with cutouts. It was a happy sort of look and a great fit for her. Jumpsuits are always a great idea, but only if you find one that makes a fashion statement like Ellen Pompeo made.

Erin Lim

“E!” tv host looked very chic in a crop top gown with suspenders. We have seen similar looks before, but she just looks flawless in Jacquemus. Fashion Reverie loves her gold purse and natural make up!

Nahuane Drumond

Embrace those curves girl! Nahuane opted for a figure-hugging dress by the Syndical Chamber. I guess we are noticing a necklace trend happening here and we love her statement choker paired with shoes.
