Fashion Reverie’s CFDA Awards 2022 Red-Carpet Favorites

CFDA Awards are exciting, everyone anticipates who is going to win awards from this hallowed fashion organization every season. Though the CFDA Awards are about outstanding fashion and style in the American fashion market, this award shows’ red carpet does not pale next to the awards ceremony.  That said, the fashion industry brings some of the best looks forward since attendees are there to honor the best in fashion. Fashion Reverie picked some of our favorite looks of the night.

Cher

It is always great to see Cher! Fashion icon showed up in a gothic Chrome Hearts look with sexy sheer tights and high platforms. Always looking fabulous.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian accepted the Innovation Award for her brand Skims. She wore a strapless, black PVC Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Mariska Hargitay

Mariska Hargitay is on a roll with her red-carpet appearances. She found her designer match, Christian Siriano. The ball gown featured a tulle fishtail hemline and statement shoulders paired with diamond jewelry.

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci, who is usually in dark colors, stepped away from the memo of the evening. The Rodarte cutout, floral, lace gown with floral and lace detailing was a success.

Janelle Monáe
Janelle Monáe turns the carpet into cabaret night wearing Thom Browne along with the famous puppy purse.

Khloé Kardashian
Fashion Reverie agrees with other fashion insiders that Khloé Kardashian was on fire! She made her CFDA Awards debut in a cross chest, cut-out bronze metallic LaQuan Smith gown. It was hard not to notice her fabulous look!

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes was all sparkles in a Jonathan Simkhai cage mesh overlay dress with a fringe hemline. Her jewelry was also perfectly paired as she almost kicked off the holiday season.

CaSandra Diggs
President of the CFDA, CaSandra Diggs ruled the red carpet in an emerald-green fringed kaftan by Oscar de la Renta. This is her best look so far and it looks like she is only getting started.

Fashion Reverie’s Favorite Celebs that Exhibit Halloween Style

It is time for some spooky inspiration with Halloween only days away! Do you have a scary outfit ready? Well, edgy just sounds more fun. Goth is a fashion statement, take it from Morticia Addams.  Simply iconic. Fashion Reverie wanted to share a few non-fiction characters from the celebrity world that rock similar styles all year around. Fashion Reverie loves spooky, freaky fashion!!

Images courtesy of pinterest.com and amazon.com

Helena Bonham Carter

As a leading lady in Tim Burton movies, Helena Bonham Carter was always known to be “different” just like her characters and we love it all! She has played iconic roles such as Bellatrix Lestrange in “Harry Potter,” Mrs. Lovett in “Sweeney Todd,” just to name a few. Her gothic style merged with vintage fashion is Halloween-inspiring.

Marilyn Manson

When it comes to wearing Goth, nobody does it like Marilyn Manson. Yes, Manson has kind of “retired” after sexual abuse allegations, but we cannot deny that Manson is one of the most controversial rock artists of our time which includes his makeup—white powder and dark red lips, often smoky eyes, and white contact lens.

Image courtesy of pinterest.com and thetelegraph.com

Rose McGowan

Well Rose McGowan happens to be Marilyn’s ex, but she does have her own style. She was in movies such as “Deathproof,” “Grindhouse,” and “The Black Dahlia.” Pretty much if there is a frightening and terrifying film, Rose is in it. Her style is edgy and outspoken.

Images courtesy of digitalspy.com and models.com

 Angelica Huston

Angelica Huston naturally has the look we all imagine a goth woman should have. Angelica Huston’s portrayal of Morticia Addams in the 1990’s “Addams Family” movies, earned her a real life Morticia Addams spot.  And you forget her star turn in “Witches.” She is this character in real life, with her alluring appearance and edgy style.

Images courtesy of digitalspy.com

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci’s portrayal of Wednesday Addams is just as iconic as Angelica Huston’s portrayal of Morticia Addams in the cult classic. And that is proof positive with her portrayal of Kristina Van Tassel in “Sleepy Hollow.” Christina’s pale skin, big eyes, and beautiful Victorian dresses are just what we are looking for. She has made several appearances where the style of her characters was on full display in real life.

Images courtesy of harpersbazaar.com

Courtney Kardashian

Courtney Kardashian found her style thanks to her husband Travis Barker, and this style does fit her perfectly. She had a typical California look for most of her celebrity life until Goth love and the love of her Goth husband. The Barker wedding was a Goth wedding extraordinaire!!

Fashion Reverie Predicts Wedding Looks for Celebrity Couples

We have come to the end of another New York Bridal Week and Fashion Reverie was inspired by all the gorgeous bridal collections and fancy presentations. Now that we have seen some gorgeous, and some “different” weddings this year, Fashion Reverie predicts what some celebrity brides might wear in the upcoming season.

Images courtesy of instyle.com and fashoinweekonline.com

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly

This is the relationship that we all keep hearing about. The couple officially got engaged on January 11, 2022. From drinking each other’s blood to starring in movies together, no doubt their wedding will be exciting. Well also goth, therefore we expect a black wedding dress. Arava Polak’s off-the-shoulder, floral embroidered tulle gown would just be a perfect fit—transparent and black.

Images courtesy of hollywoodlife.com and Atelier PR

Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman

This recently engaged couple has been together since 2004, and they have one son together, Eric, who was born in 2014. So obviously there is no rush to get married. Fashion Reverie predicts the gown to be somewhat subtle and romantic, so Ines di Santo is the way to go.

Images courtesy of vanityfair.com and fashionweekonline.com

Rita Ora and Taika Waititi (Reportedly)

Reportedly engaged! Unlike other celebrity couples we don’t hear much about these two. Which doesn’t mean their wedding won’t be a big bang. Lihi Hod collection called Diamonds and Rust is a great option for Rita who is very fashion forward so the open finger gloves and lots of lace can be inspiring for this superstar.

Images courtesy of people.com and Atelier PR

Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle

Former president Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle are engaged and going strong. This match was made in heaven or the other place!! The Morilee Empire Collection gown that has enough coverage would show off Kimberly’s curves seems ideal. Just something that seems to fit her style along with the cut out decolletage.

Images courtesy of marieclaire.com and fashionweekonline.com

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Riley Roberts

The newly engaged couple has been together since they were in college. They met in 2011 at Boston University, which they both attended for their undergraduate degrees. Roberts proposed to AOC while in Puerto Rico on vacation. Milla Nova has prepared a spectacular mix of the never-before-seen 2023 collection and a retrospective of iconic styles from the previous collection, so this particular style caught our eye for Alexandria. It would look very flattering on her figure and the embroidery is simply mesmerizing.

Images courtesy of southchinamorningpost.com and fashionweekonline.com

Marc Anthony and Nadia Ferreira

Just three months after confirming his relationship with model Nadia Ferreira, the 23-year-old former Miss Paraguay, they shared the big news on Instagram Stories. Rami Al Ali is a dramatic dress for this young model but also unique and different so she can stand out from Marc’s previous brides.

Fashion Reverie’s 10th Annual Fashion Gala Red-Carpet Favorites

It is officially fall which in New York City means the gala season scene is about to bloom. If we judge by the 10th annual Fashion Gala hosted by New York Ballet, we are off to a very promising start. Ballet dancers, celebrities, and socialites showed up in some great and dramatic looks.  Fashion Reverie picked some of the favorites.

Julia Fox

The “Uncut Gems” actress and former dominatrix keeps shocking us with her red carpet looks; however, this time around with more fabric than usual. She wore a grand, silver foil like gown by Zac Posen.

Kristin Davis

Wearing Monique Lhullier, looks stunning on the red carpet, kind of like Cinderella with a cape. Fashion Reverie loves the gold gown, and Kristin Davis shimmered down the red carpet.

Tiler Peck

We love seeing Valentino especially in neon green after all the fuschia shades overload. This gracious New York City Ballet principal dancer, of course, opted to wear pink pointe shoes to strut the red carpet. Look at the pointe shoes like they are high heels. They make the ballerina 3 or 4 inches taller!!

Jordan Roth

This American theater producer always leaves an impression. This time was no different. He wore a Balenciaga, full black look, with his hair pulled back and dramatic make up.

Unity Phelan

This Bordo, Nensi Dojaka dress look was a perfect fit for this New York City Ballet soloist.  Simplicity, yet dramatic decolletage perfect for her body type, ready to make a pirouette on demand.

Billy Porter

Billy Porter is keeping up his appearances with another memorable red-carpet choice by Giles Deacon. He is giving us Greek mythology vibes!

Laverne Cox

We love this gown by Iris Van Herpen Couture, also perfectly accessorized.   What adds so much to the look is the hair pulled up coif, just like a prima ballerina except in a little tighter dress.

Red Carpet looks from the 79th Venice Film Festival

The 79th Venice Film Festival, as expected has given us some of the best fashion moments of the year! There was no lack of celebrity fashion moments at the oldest event of its kind existing since 1932. Also, what a beautiful ambiance at the floating city with photo shots of guests arriving by private water taxis. Many attendees opted for archival couture over new looks. So, Fashion Reverie rounded up some of the favorite red-carpet looks.

Timothée Chalamet

Chalamet’s look had the internet buzzing! This backless Haider Ackerman look is an acquired taste and probably more acceptable in Hollywood. Still, this look is very fashion-forward and broke our expectations. After all, he does look great, and it is a perfect fit for his avant-garde approach.

Jodie Turner Smith

Now is denim allowed on this red carpet? This denim look is made by Balmain, and is looks quite glamorous, despite being denim! This is a look to remember, since it also breaks all the rules, and still delivers!

Tessa Thompson

Tessa looks fantastic in this Elie Saab monochromatic look. In this garment, Tessa blends in with the carpet, but the shape of this gown still allows us to appreciate every curve of the creation. This is another fashion-forward look and should inspire all of us to dare and do something different.

Harry Styles

Unlike the rest of Fashion Reverie’s best dressed picks, Harry Styles took it down a notch; but he is like the poster child for Gucci. You can see it from miles away!! We love the white shoes and multiple rings paired with a long, triangle collar and classic double- breasted jacket.

Julianne Moore

Now this is red carpet perfection.  The embellished Valentino cape with sheer looks are quite classy and very appropriate for the occasion. The embellishments give her a special glow and certain va va voom!

Mariacarla Boscono

Boscono graced the red carpet in a revealing Jean-Paul Gaultier gown by Glenn Martens! How sexy! We love her hairstyle and makeup which brought a certain mystery to complete the look.

Florence Pugh

Florence looked great in a Valentino off-the-shoulders transparent gown with a high slit along with magic dust-like fabric. This is another timeless look we can admire for years to come.

74th Primetime Emmy’s Red-Carpet Looks

We spend time watching them on the small screen and we laugh and cry with them. Then they all come together at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for the 74th annual Primetime Emmy Awards so we can celebrate their achievements. Ahead of the super fun show hosted by Kenan Thompson, our favorite A-listers stole the spotlight on the red carpet. They all brought so much glamour so here are few of Fashion Reverie’s favorites.

Zendaya

As always Zendaya looked absolutely stunning. This is old Hollywood glamour by the book! This black, Valentino gown was the hit of the evening which demonstrates that a young lady like Zendaya can pull off such a complex look and still keep her youthful spirit.

Amanda Seyfried

What a gorgeous lilac shade. Amanda said it herself; she looks like a mermaid! Just the fantasy of all of us little girls. Is she in a fairytale or oh wait, just Emmys red carpet? A typical day in Hollywood but in Armani Privé Couture.

Julia Garner

Fashion Reverie loves Julia in Gucci. Embroidery and chocolate brown velvet looks simply delicious on Julia Garner. Now how do we feel about the belly button cut out? Opinions are split just like the midsection of the dress.

Zuri Hall

Rami Kadi Maison de Couture made some magic on this red-carpet edition, and Zuri Hall was the right celebrity to show off the brand’s magic! Zuri looks gorgeous in her feather, flowing white gown.

Reese Witherspoon

This Armani Privé dress is an epitome of luxury and Reese’s style. She looks beautiful, confident, and very sexy with this body-conscious garment. This is the perfect gown to kick off the new award season.

Sandra Oh

She looked stunning in Rodarte. Fashion Reverie speculates that oversized suits are still on trend, especially when they fit like this number on Sandra Oh. Effortlessly chic!!

Ariana DeBose

This Oscar winner (“Westside Story”) wore a custom Atelier Prabal Gurung silk chiffon cape gown. This was a beautiful, feminine gown with the cutouts in the right places!!

Fashion Reverie’s Favorite Red Carpet Looks for the 2022 Video Music Awards

It is time for Fashion Reverie to pick favorites out of all the amazing looks that graced the 2022 Video Music Awards (VMAs) Red Carpet!  The event was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and hosted by LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow! It was exciting because of the exciting performances by Blackpink, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Lizzo, Panic! At the Disco, Maneskin, and Anitta. All gave exciting performances!!

The VMAs are known for killer red carpets, so below take a look at Fashion Reverie favorite red-carpet picks from the 2022 VMAs!

Taylor Swift

Girl Next Door Taylor Swift and her long legs sparkled in Oscar de la Renta.  There were sparkles, sparkles, and more glitter and sparkles everywhere which aligns with her next album release date on October 2.

Anitta

Anitta always hits the right spot, on the red carpet that is. She was wearing Schiaparelli Couture. Her entire look was amazing.

Lizzo

Lizzo graced us with her presence in a beautiful Jean Paul Gaultier Couture look with Jennifer Fisher jewelry. She is 100% a star.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X has given us major hits and all his hard work has paid off. Lil Nas X won the “Best Collaboration” category at the MTV Video Music Awards for his hit” Industry Baby.” All that aside, his Harris Reed outfit was iconic.

Chloe Bailey

She was wearing a silver Zigman gown that has a corset top to show a little skin. This very sexy and eye-catching look was a more toned that than we have come to expect from Chloe Bailey.

Sheensea

This is a perfect VMAs red-carpet look.  It was avantgarde, sexy, and red-carpet worthy. This Marc Jacobs look has many in one and a new direction for Marc Jacobs.

Maneskin

This pop group always “bring it” to the red carpet, as a whole. They are all wearing Gucci and each garment, though neutral color black, is beautiful and unique in its own way.

Pop Stars That Can Inspire Your Summer 2022 Fashion

Summer is here and we all are bouncing to the hot weather lyrics in our most fashionable bright-colored outfits. Each season calls for some new and great inspiration for our closets. So, let’s elevate that style by looking up to celebrities who have an incredible musical talent and sure know how to put a look together.

Fashion Reverie has some great choices for you!!

Images courtesy of themirror.co.uk and fashionisto.com

Machine Gun Kelly

This is someone who always “brings it” to the red carpet. We think Machine Gun Kelly (MGK)does not get enough credit for his sense of fashion given each one of his red-carpet looks are spectacular and carefully planned. From black tongue to 30k manicure and sometimes simple florals, MGK’s rockstar glam look should be your inspiration if you are looking to spice up your style.

Beyonce

Not everyone has Beyonce aura or presence but copying some of her looks for inspiration cannot hurt. She embraces femininity and with her curvy figure, her fashion is especially an inspiration to curvy girls. What we especially love about her style are her accessories and headpieces. I mean the Queen should have a crown, so fitting for Queen Bey.

Kanye

Well of course, Kanye is controversial and lots of his choices (fashion choices) are highly questionable. Especially when it comes to footwear. Yet, lots of his fans find inspiration from Kanye, and this includes serious fashion designers. It is interesting to watch the process of Kanye setting trends: shock, acceptance, then take off. Boom, and suddenly Kanye’s fashion choices are integrated in everyone’s closet.

Images courtesy of voguefrance.com and noovomoi.com

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has been through style evolutions. At the very beginning of her career, she improvised her looks for appearances, then there was lots of drama which included the legendary meat dress. Now Gaga is all about glamor, epitomized with classic red carpet, old Hollywood looks for the Gucci premieres around the world. It is easy to say, each one of us might be inspired by at least one of her style phases.

Photo by Ricky Vigil M/GC Images

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa is beautiful, so anything she puts on looks good on her. What Fashion Reverie likes about her style is that she keeps it sexy and feminine. She wears lots of micro skirts as well, which is such a trend for this summer season. Unless of course you are Britney, then no skirt is acceptable.

Images courtesy of billboard.com and malemodelscene.net

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny is in our ears as most of his songs are perfect summer hits. That said, Fashion Reverie doesn’t stop there. Coming from a Puerto Rican machismo background, Fashion Reverie admires Bad Bunny for standing his ground about wearing unisex fashion. He can be seen in a skirt or dress, with jewelry and he is still a sexy, confident bad bunny. Talk about the new masculinity!!

Rosalia

A trend setter for sure, Rosalia is talented and different in every sense. When it comes to her music it is inspiring, upbeat and the same translates to her fashion sense. Oversized looks good on her, mermaid dress looks good on her, Skims underwear looks good on her.  Why? Because she is not only good looking, but because she is always happy and confident.
