So long, Richard

“Uncross your legs.” Does that sound familiar? It should.

If you ever attended New York Fashion Week (NYFW), you have experienced a small man (Richard Renda) that looked like Steven Tyler, yelling at folks in the front row to uncross their legs so that the crossed legs will not impede the shots of models walking down the runway. And his directive worked, we uncrossed our legs.

Sadly, we will no longer hear Richard Renda telling us to uncross our legs. Richard passed away on Friday, September 20 from a two-year battle with lung cancer.

Richard Renda was a NYFW and New York Bridal Week (NYBW) regular and somewhat of a legend, controlling the photographer’s risers and making sure that we were all ready for the glamour of the runway. Renda was not only a fashion photographer, he was the owner of Totally Cool, and an editor and a stylist.

Richard Renda will be missed. Richard Renda was 74 years old.
