Deep into Union Square Market and away from the torrential downpour that had placed itself over Manhattan, New York International Bridal Fashion Week was in full swing with many designers showing to buyers and select media under one roof. There was a calm excitement throughout the venue, with most people mentioning how good it felt to be back around colleagues to see clothes in person.
At INBAR FREIMAN’s spring 2023 collection, something special was taking place for her spring 2023 collection. Among an assortment of gowns in ivory adorned in Solstiss lace and delicate beading, Freiman perfectly married art and fashion, infusing her unique design language to create an enduring aesthetic. The dresses were effortlessly chic and amazingly calm in their presentation, and they moved with an air of lightness across the room without being stiff and overdone with piles of fabric.
Her spring 2023 collection, entitled “Fairy Dreams,” is for the confident bohemian woman who is relaxed in her demeanor and believes that comfort and luxury should co-exist together. The gowns are lifestyle-driven, punctuated by their ability to move in unison with the bride. “Fairy Dreams” can be best described as a journey for the eyes to feast on a palette of sumptuously natural fabrics in an assortment of soft silks, delicate lace, and layered chiffon.
The inspiration behind “Fairy Dreams” was birthed from dreaming about a brighter future after the worldwide circumstances of the last two years. This idea, a focusing point, also has roots in the Hebrew language. The phrase Atit Varod, or “pink/bright future” was essential to the creative process and rooted the collection in forward motion toward something new.

In many ways, Freiman captured the essence of the moment. Not just in her ideas about the future but also in how she thinks about the garment’s construction. Each gown has an ease of movement that is symbolic of moving towards a bright new future. And isn’t that what every new bride is hoping for?
