Happy holidays and happy New Year! Before you ring in 2019, let’s get in one last afternoon fashion tea.
A renowned jewelry brand paid a top influencer 2 million dollars and got no return on the investment. Someone should have told them that the type of people purchasing luxury jewelry are don’t take fashion cues from social media influencers and reality stars. You live and you learn, well, hopefully!!
A once gloried fashion PR agency has put a ban on their account people contacting editors. No wonder they have lost so many accounts. The reason their glory days are kaput might be their own fault.
A top fashion magazine lied to a particular trade publication about their performance. The magazine told the publication that they are one of the top three performing magazines. Turns out that is not the case, and in this tumultuous media landscape they are struggling just as much as anyone else.
A publication that is now digital only is still underperforming. While closing their print edition was expected to help this media brand’s bottom line, they still aren’t turning the expected profit. Hopefully, investment in video and more digital advertising will help them out.
