The 91st Academy Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The Academy Awards is almost known more for its red-carpet fashion than for the Oscar winners. Who can forget Hilary Swank in Guy Laroche in 2005, Demi Moore in Atelier Versace in 2010, Janelle Monae in Elie Saab Haute Couture in 2017 and Lupita Nyong’o in Prada in 2014?

This year’s Academy Awards red carpet will make its stamp in red-carpet history with some great fashion from your favorite celebrities. Fashion Reverie has selected some of the best and most interesting red-carpet fashion for our viewers.

Regina King was not only a winner at the 2019 Academy Awards, winning Best Actress for “If Beale Street Could Talk,” but she also won on the red carpet in a white Oscar de la Renta gown.

Lady Gaga won an Oscar for best song “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born.” She also won on the red carpet in black Alexander McQueen with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

Angela Bassett always turns it out on the red carpet and this Academy Awards was no exception. Angela was all imperial beauty in a carnation Reem Acra gown with oversized shoulder bow.

Jennifer Hudson gave a great performance at the Academy Awards with her interpretation of the Oscar-nominated song “I’ll Fight” from the documentary “RGB.” Jennifer Hudson was also a hit on the red carpet in red ruffled off-the-shoulder Elie Saab gown.

Danielle Macdonald, from the Oscar nominated short film “SKIN,” shined as she arrived at the 91st Academy Awards wearing a custom red tulle draped sleeve overlay gown made by Christian Siriano.
 
The gown is made up of a red cotton crepe vegetable dyed fabric. Siriano used recycled tulle for the sleeves and minimal waste for the skirt and top.

2018 Academy Award Best Actress winner Emma Stone went for a more architectural gown this season compared to her non-traditional look in a Louis Vuitton silk suit last season. The verdict is still out on the Louis Vuitton gown Emma Stone donned this year.

No couple at the 91st Academy Awards was more interesting than Spike Lee and his wife Tonya Lee. Tonya Lee wore a fall 2019 black velvet and chartreuse Bibhu Mohapatra gown and her hubby work a purple Oswald Boateng suit. Did I mention that Spike’s film “BlacKkKlansman” won for best adapted screenplay?

Christine Lahti is considered Hollywood royalty. This Academy Award winner has starred in some of industry’s most iconic films, and her television credits ain’t bad, either.That said; Christine looks lovely in a gold crepe waltz-length circle Romona Keveza skirt with black stretch crepe boatneck bodice.
