He wanted to give an opportunity for designers to be featured in the magazine who wouldn’t normally be, especially for a cover shoot of this magnitude.”

For this December 2017 shoot, Kaepernick was dressed in a black leather blazer by Harlem Haberdashery, and a custom-made shirt “Even More Names” by black designer Kerby James-Raymond of menswear brand Pyer Moss. Kaepernick also wore garments from Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein.

$10 million dollar baby

You know you have market proliferation when you can sell $10 million dollar worth of product in one day, and that product is not even in the stores. That’s right, Kim Kardashian sold over $10 million dollars of her new fragrance in one day due to a very aggressive social media campaign.

300,000 bottles of KKW Fragrances expect to sell out by Thursday night with the fragrance being available for purchase on line on Wednesday, November 15. If inventory sells out by Thursday, the bonanza blowout will total to over $14 million dollars in just a day and a half. According to tmz.com, the new fragrance hit the $1 million mark in the first hour.

KKW Fragrances is available in three fragrances, Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Oud, and Crystal Gardenia Citrus. Hmm, that is a whole lot of gardenias. I guess diversifying is not Kim’s strong point!!

Target’s holiday strategy

Target’s shares fell by 10 percent due to low expectation and forecasts on holiday sales. For the last two years, Target has missed fourth quarter expectations, which includes holiday sales.

“It was always unrealistic that Target was going to have a great holiday season in terms of sales or profitability,” said Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData Retail, noting pressured margins were already expected based on company guidance in a reuters.com post. This is still a very competitive environment, and Target has no choice but to respond to that … the problem is that Wall Street don’t necessarily understand this,” he added.

Target is putting a lot of energy in turning things around. In competition with the sales wars with some Target’s biggest competitors, Target announced in October that many of its holiday gifts will cost $15 and under. Target will also supply free shipping to it online customers. And in response to this expected increase in sales, Target has over 100,000 temporary workers, raising their hourly wage by 10 percent.

Target is also projecting to grab a large share of the holiday toy market because of the bankruptcy of the largest toy retailer in the US, Toy “R” Us. We are playing to win in toys. We think there is opportunity to expand share,” explained Target Chief Executive Brian Cornell.
