Usain and Puma

On the heels of Usain Bolt coming in third in the 100-meter dash at the World Athletics Championships, Bolt has announced that the 100-meter dash was his last race. This last race could open doors for Bolt at Puma beyond him being sponsored by the brand, a sponsorship he has had since he was 15.

“Usain Bolt could be even more important for us when he stops running,” Chief Executive Bjorn Gulden told the Handelsblatt Daily in an interview. “I can even imagine that he could run our business in the Caribbean.”

Bolt is still not committing to his next move after track and field. Bolt has excelled in three Olympics, winning eight gold medals and 12 World Athletics Championships titles. “It’s going to be hard, as track and field has been everything for me since I [Usain Bolt] was 10 and it’s been a rush—but we’ll see where life takes me.”
