New York Fashion Week: Men’s Spring 2018 Editors’ Essentials

During New York Fashion Week you find two, maybe three types of editors. There are those editors who are running for show to show, working real hard and they look like it!! (I used to be one of those.) Then there are those editors who are just trying to hard and really should re-evaluate their style choices. Too many embellishments, bad style combinations, and just too much makes for an appearance on Fashion Reverie’s “Dippity Don’t” list. Lastly, there are the cool, collected and fashion sensible editors who never looked overwrought and are the epitome of what one would expect a fashion editor to look like.

If you fit into the first two categories, but aspire to be in the last category, Fashion Reverie is going to hope you re-invent your style. Well, at least when it comes to accessories!!

OK, most folks use their Smart phones to know the time, but there is no substitute for a great wristwatch to demonstrate style and sophistication. This New York Fashion Week: Men’s (NYFWM) have a little fun with a watch style and don Mondrian and Pollack watches from fab.com. These watches will certainly get you noticed and the price point of $45 aint bad, either.

Fashion Week is very hectic for editors. From rushing from runway shows to presentations to doing social media to answering emails and texts, your Smart phone can run out of steam real quick!!

The Power Tube Lightning Charger from MiPow is like your cell phone’s holy ghost: not only does it recharge your battery at lightning speed and eliminate the need to carry around a cable, it works as a location tracker, so as long as it’s in your bag you’ll know exactly where all your stuff is. And fab.com’s price point is good too at $49.99.

Nothing says serious menswear editor more than a great man bag. When it comes to man bags, Fossil to the rescue!! Whether your needs dictate messenger bag or chic leather workbag, Fossil has a good range of styles and man bag silhouettes that can fit all your NYFWM’s needs.

The Davis NS Bag holds just enough, perfect for your I-Pad. And if you gonna get a lot of gift swag during NYFWM’s perhaps you should opt for Wyatt Top Zip Workbag which roomy enough to hold your laptop. Price points range from $299 to $98.

During NYFWM, fashion editors and other industry professionals shuffle between Cadillac House, Industria Superstudio and Clarkson Square, and believe me it’s rough on the feet. Serious fashion editors understand that NYFWM is no time to wear cute shoes that haven’t been broken in; comfort is key.

Still, you can be comfortable and stylish in Donald J. Pliner shoes. From calf suede and waxy calf leather driving loafer to black calf leather sneakers to boa print leather loathers to leather sandals, Donald J. Pliner has your feet covered, literally. Price points range from $139 to $595.

Now, that you’ve got your fashion accessories in place, its time to think about your skin, and more specifically your face. It’s hard to keep that bright-eyed and bushy tailed look if your skin is dull, sallow and lifeless. Injectable treatments are an option to tightening up your skin and getting rid of some the wrinkles; however, most treatments are really expensive and can leave a little bruising.

So what is an editor to do? Collagen Bar—with two locations in New York City—has some answers. The COLLAGENIZER® delivers non-invasive, instant and long lasting effects. Moreover, macromolecules like collagen can be delivered for the “first time! Transdermal electroporation is hugely successful and widely used in Japan and Europe. The COLLAGENIZER®is used with D-More’s collagen-based gel which contains an injectable medical grade of organic bovine collagen along with Hyaluronic Acid. (And believe me it works, after only one treatment, I saw immediate results.)

You will need several treatments to see lasting results. But, believe me its worth the costs.
