Alexander McQueen is returning to Paris runways, well, his menswear that is!! After several seasons not showing menswear in Paris, the design house is coming back with bang under the creative direction of Sarah Burton.

Alexander McQueen’s menswear show will close the spring 2018 menswear season in Paris. And the show promises to show the gamut of British imagery ranging from rocker 1950s street wear to Colonial dandies and proper Edwardian gents. This menswear dissertation on British male fashion is solidly in the arena of men’s couture, making the collection difficult to replicate for mass consumption.

More Trump trouble

Are the Trumps, ever not in the news? Apparently, not!! It appears that Ivanka Trump may have to make a court appearance in lieu of a lawsuit that implies that Ivanka Trump’s apparel company copied designs from a prominent Italian shoemaker.

Ivanka has attempted to get out of testifying in court because of her White House duties; however, New York District Judge Katherine Forrest has rejected Ivanka’s claim. [Despite] “the obvious time constraints that Ms. Trump must currently have … it is nonetheless true that she is alleged to have personal involvement in the events at issue in this lawsuit,” explained Judge Forrest in a three-page ruling released on Friday. “Accordingly, she cannot avoid a deposition in this matter.”

The Italian shoe company in question is Aquazzura. Aquazzura claims that Ivanka Trump “copied nearly every detail” of the brand’s “well-known and coveted ‘Wild Thing Shoe’ from the shape and silhouette to the fringe covering the toes, to the tassel on the heel.”

Wang pride

Alexander Wang joins Urban Outfitters, Converse and Nichola Formichetti’s NicoPanda in celebrating NYC’s 2017 Pride celebration. Wang is collaborating with Trojan in creating a sleek, black float that will promote safer sex in the Pride parade.

The black float will mimic Wang’s black buses that transported partygoers to his legendary runway show after-parties. The chic black float will have the safer-sex logo “Protect Your Wang” emblazoned on the float with Wang, himself, riding on the float. New York City’s Pride Parade takes place on June 25.

More Sears closings

Sears plans to close more store locations in the US. The embattled mega store filed this past Friday a regulatory filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that is closing 18 stores and two K-Mart locations by October 2017.

Store liquidations will begin on June 30 bringing the total Sears store closings in 2017 to 260. There are still 1,100 K-Mart and Sears stores still open for business.
