“Claws’” Desna Simms

Desna Simms (Niecy Nash) can sort of grow on you. Niecy Nash plays her character confidently with appropriate fashion choices that parallel her character—especially her bodycon dresses. (Remember, her style is urban glam with an emphasis on showing off the curves.) Her ample curves perfectly parallel with statement accessories and colorful “ claws.”

Cast of “The Bold Type”

For those that aren’t familiar with “The Bold Type,” this show was inspired by the life of former Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles. It would be unfortunate if “The Bold Type” characters didn’t dress the part. That said: the show delivers, particularly when it comes to the fashion! From classic to sophisticated, to sporty glamour to fashion forward ensembles, the cast is ready to be in the magazine!

Fashion Reverie is well familiar with Empire’s fashionable cast but the one cast member that seems to impress episode after episode is Cookie Lyon, incomparably portrayed by Emmy Award–winning Taraji Henson. Her outfits, like her personality, are chic and bold, and reflect her confidence. Animal prints, flashy accessories, and luxury labels make Cookie unstoppable.
